Basic Travel Requirements for Kenyans visiting Solomon Islands

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Solomon Islander Visa.

  • Valid passport with a validity of more than 6 months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have two blank pages for necessary stamps.
  • Correctly completed visa application form which has been signed where necessary by the applicant.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background showing the full face. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application.
  • Bank statement from the previous three months prior to the period of visa application. This is proof that the applicant can cater for himself/herself while in the country.

The Solomon Islands is a sovereign state consisting of six major islands and over 900 smaller islands. The country is well known for its islands, beach resorts, and beautiful scenery. Scuba-diving destinations are accessible in almost all parts of the country. The gigantic Marovo Lagoon and Iron Bottom Sound are two of the more popular destinations for scuba-diving. Solomon Islands Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreigners who are visiting the Solomon Islands for sightseeing, relaxation, recreation purposes.
  • Kenyans whose intention of traveling to the country is to visit their friends and relatives are eligible for this visa.
  • Those who are visiting their friends and relatives in the country are required to provide a letter of invitation from their host. The letter should introduce the applicant and state the relationship between the applicant and the host.
  • Foreigners who have an interest in any festival or event taking place in the country are free to attend.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer written on the company’s letterhead is required. The letter should indicate the applicant’s job status, length of employment, and duration of the leave.
  • A copy of your Kenyan stay permit should be presented.
  • If you are under the age of 18 years, the original copy of your birth certificate is required. A notarized consent signed by both the parents of the minor should also be provided.
  • Proof of the incentive of returning to your country at the expiry of your visa is required.
  • The receipt that shows payment for visa application has been made should be provided.
  • Foreigners cannot take up work or be paid for the services they render while they are in the country.
  • You are expected to abide by all the rules of this visa.
  • Applicants of this visa must be vaccinated against yellow fever before traveling to the country.

  • The Business Visa is for business travelers who aim to foster and develop the relationship between the applicant’s company and the host company.
  • Kenyans can negotiate and sign business contracts with their partner companies in the Solomon Islands.
  • Foreigners are allowed to attend conferences, trade fairs, and business summits during their time in the country.
  • Letter of invitation from the host company is required. The letter should state the nature of the business to be carried out and the duration of the applicant’s visit. Valid contact information of the company should also be stated in the letter.
  • If the applicant is employed, a letter from the applicant’s employer in Kenya should be provided. The letter should confirm the awareness and allowance of the applicant’s business leave. The duration and the purpose of the leave should be stated in the letter.
  • The business letter from the applicant’s employer should state whether the host company or the applicant’s company would be responsible for the applicant’s finances.
  • If you are traveling with a minor, the unabridged original copy of the minor’s birth certificate should be provided.
