Venezuela Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Venezuelan tourist visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of exploring the tourist attractions in the country.
- A valid passport in good condition, with at least six months of validity remaining from the date of arrival in Venezuela is required.
- Two recent 2 x 2'' passport-sized photographs are required.
- Immigration officials often require proof of accommodation while in Venezuela.
- You must obtain an entry stamp to prove you entered the country legally.
- The following documents are required:
- A copy of your recent bank statement.
- Proof of travel insurance to cover entire duration of stay.
- Reference letter from your employer or education establishment.
- Proof of group travel, if you are traveling in a group.
- Proof of accommodation booking. For example, hotel reservation or letter from the friend or family you will be staying with.
- Journalists are allowed into Venezuela with the tourist visa. Although, they must have appropriate accreditation and also a working visa before arriving in the country. There have been recent cases of international journalists being expelled and/or detained for not having proper permission/documentation to work in Venezuela.
- Venezuela's child protection law mandates that minors (under 18) of any nationality who are traveling alone, with only one parent, or with a third party, must present a copy of their birth certificate and written, notarized authorization from the absent parent(s) or legal guardian. The birth certificate must be translated into Spanish.
- Vaccinations for the following is required:
- Yellow fever
- Measles
- Malaria
- It is advisable for tourists to travel in groups.
- The currencies used in Venezuela are the Venezuelan Bolivar and Petro.
- In Venezuela, it is illegal to take pictures of sensitive buildings, including the presidential palace, military bases, government buildings, and airports.
Venezuela Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The business visa is issued to Kenyan traders, executives, representatives of enterprises & industries going to Venezuela in order to accomplish business activities and/or commercial and financial transactions or any other lucrative activity related to their business.
- The Venezuelan business visa is valid for one (1) year with multiple entries. Its holder is allowed to stay in the country for a non-renewable period of up to 180 days.
- The applicant's company must provide proof of registration.
- A cover letter must be provided, and the letter must include the following:
- It must be written on the company's letterhead.
- The travelers position with the company
- Purpose of travel.
- Reference to be visited in Venezuela.
- Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit
- The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.
- The letter must state if the host company will take up applicant's expenses.
- Original recommendation from the chamber of commerce in Venezuela must be provided.
- Income tax for the last three months must be provided.
- An invitation letter from the host company must be provided.
- Confirmation of return ticket must be provided, this is to show that the applicant have the intention of returning back to their country.
