Basic Travel Requirements for Laotians visiting Canada

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Canadian Visa.


  • A valid passport with six months validity period.

  • Appropriate Canada visa application form

  • A document showing proof of paid Canada visa fees (Application processing fees and biometric fees).

  • A recently taken passport photos based on Canada’s requirements.

  • Proof of financial means to cover the stay period in Canada.

  • Proof of return or onward ticket to show you will leave Canada when your visa expires.

  • A photocopy of your Identity and Civil Status Documents should be attached to your visa application form. Your identity form can be your marriage certificate, birth certificate or national ID card.

  • Police clearances.

  • Medical examination by a panel physician to show you are in good health. However, a medical exam is not necessary if you plan to stay for less than six months.

  • A cover letter that explains the purpose of your travel to Canada.

  • Letter of support/invitation to Canada.
