Basic Travel Requirements for Laotians visiting Japan

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Japanese Visa.


  • A passport with at least six months validity period and two blank visa pages is required.

  • A complete Japan visa application form.

  • A document showing proof of sufficient funds to cover stay period in Japan.

  • A recently taken passport photo with a white background and a certified copy of your birth certificate is required. The passport should be 35mm by 45mm in size.

  • Proof of accommodation, confirmation of hotel reservations and the address where you will be staying.

  • Laotians visiting Japan on an invitation is required to provide an invitation letter from their inviter.

  • Proof of onward travel or return ticket.
