Basic Travel Requirements for Laotians visiting Taiwan
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Taiwanese Visa.
- A Laotian passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
- Duly completed and signed visa application form.
- If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form and a letter of consent.
- A recent Passport-size photographs (45 mm x 35cm) in size and taken against a white background.
- Travel document.
- Proof of financial support to cover the duration of stay in Taiwan.
- Proof of accommodation while in the country.
- Copy of return flight tickets.
- Documentation showing applicant’s ties to home country, e.g. verification from the applicant’s employer or the applicant's birth certificate.
- A police report from the applicants home country showing the traveler does not have a criminal record.
- Medical Insurance to cover the duration of stay in Taiwan.
- A document showing the applicant purpose and duration of stay in Taiwan.

- Taiwan tourist visa is a visa issued to foreigners who intend to visit Taiwan for sightseeing, tourism, visitation or recreational purposes.
- Laotians visiting Taiwan for vacation and recreational purposes can apply for the Taiwan tourist visa.
- A passport with at least six months validity and two blank pages for visa stamps is required.
- The applicant's old passport is required (if any).
- A recently taken neutral passport photograph, 35x 45mm in size is required.
- A complete round trip air ticket.
- A Cover letter showing the applicant's personal information, purpose and duration of travel should be provided.
- Applicants not traveling alone should state the person bearing the travel expenses in the cover letter.
- A recent bank statement not more than six months signed and stamped by the bank is required in order to show proof of sufficient funds to stay in the country.

Taiwan Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Laotians visiting Taiwan for business purposes such as to attend business meetings, conferences or seminars can apply for the Taiwan business visa.
- A passport valid for a duration of six months beyond stay period in Taiwan and two blank visa pages are required.
- A recently taken neutral passport photograph, 35x 45mm in size is required.
- A complete round trip air ticket.
- Applicants traveling to Taiwan for a business meeting on behalf of their company are required to show a cover letter signed and stamped by the employer.
- The cover letter should show the reason for the applicant's travel, duration of stay, the traveler and company personal information and it should be written in the company's letterhead paper.
- A recent bank statement not more than six months signed and stamped by the bank is required in order to show proof of sufficient funds to stay in the country.
- A document showing the company's income tax returns for the last three years is needed.
- An invitation letter from the company in Taiwan. The letter should contain the applicant's purpose of visit.
- A document showing previous business dealings of the company in Laos and the Taiwan company.
- A certificate of business registration to show that the business is legitimate and lawfully registered by the government.
- Proof of accommodation in Taiwan.
Taiwan Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Taiwan students who have received an admission offer to study in a Taiwanese educational institution are eligible for a student visa.
- A Taiwanese student visa is a resident visa that allows its holder to remain in Taiwan for more than 90 days.
- To be issued a student visa you must have a resident permit which can be obtained on your behalf by your educational institution.
- A passport with at least six months validity and two blank visa pages.
- You must submit a duly completed and signed visa application form.
- Two coloured passport-size photographs taken within the last 6 months.
- An official admission letter from a Taiwanese college or university must be presented by the applicant.
- A medical report showing that the applicant is free from any contagious disease.
- You are required to apply for an Alien Resident Certificate and Re-entry Permit at the local office of the Immigration Agency within 15 days of your arrival in Taiwan.
- If you hold a student visa and intend to work in Taiwan, you must present a school report that shows your recent grades along with other relevant documents.
- If you are a minor, you must provide a signed letter of consent from your parents or guardians permitting you to travel to Taiwan.
- Proof of accommodation in Taiwan.
- A recent bank statement not more than three months to show proof of sufficient funds to cover the duration of stay in Taiwan.
