Basic Travel Requirements for Lesothos visiting Spain

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Spanish Visa.

Spain Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Applicants with a tourist visa can visit friends and relatives, go for vacation, relaxation and tourism purposes.
  • It is an offence to take up a paid job or engage in any business activities with a tourist visa.
  • Valid medical insurance for the duration of stay in Spain.
  • The original copy of the minor’s birth certificate is required.
  • The visa is usually processed for a period of 15 business days
  • Applicants are expected to leave the country at the expiration of the visa.
  • Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable fee of €60 for the tourist visa.
  • Invitation letter from a family member or friend or tour organization in Spain containing contact information such as the address and phone number of the host.
  • The invitation letter should indicate the nature of events or activities, the purpose of visit, and expense coverage.
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of the bank statement for the last 6 months.
  • Photocopies of previous passport copies.
  • Travel itinerary showing the entry and exit date from Spain.

Spain Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • A business visa is issued to people who want to perform business activities in Spain.
  • Holders of this visa can attend business meetings, conferences, trade fairs, and sign contracts while in the country.
  • The maximum period the holder of this period can stay in Spain is 90 days.
  • Applicants are required to have valid medical insurance for the whole duration of stay in Spain.
  • If the applicant is self-employed, a copy of the business license, company bank statement of the latest 6 months and Income Tax Return (ITR)
  • Invitation letter from the Spanish company the applicant will be visiting and their detailed address accompanied by the dates of the visit is required.
  • A certificate from the applicant's employer stating/allowing the business travel/leave is required.
  • If there were previous trade relations between the two companies, proof of such events must be provided
  • The business bank statement of the latest 6 months is to be submitted by the applicant.
  • Regarding the applicant’s expenses during stay in Spain, either the employer or the partner company must state coverage of expenses on the letter or invitation.

Spain Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Spain visa application forms duly filled out and signed.
  • The passport must be valid for the intended period of your stay in Spain with at least one blank page to affix the visa.
  • Two recent photos of passport size with a white background. Staple one photo on each of the application forms.
  • Letter of acceptance or admission as a full-time student from Spain’s University/School indicating the name, address and registration number of the school with Spain’s Department of Education; 
  • The letter must also indicate that the applicant has made full payment of all of the costs of tuition, duration of the program, subjects of the study and hours of study per week, which must be no less than 20.
  • Health Insurance (only the original form will be accepted) is required.
  • International insurance coverage for health/accident with minimum coverage equal to 30,000 EUR during the planning period of stay in Spain.
  • Proof of financial means during the stay in Spain by submitting a letter from the University or School in Spain or in Lesotho assuming full financial responsibility during the applicant’s stay, the roof of financial aid or scholarship for at least $1,000 per month for room and board
  • Applicants can also provide a notarized letter from your parents or legal guardians assuming full financial responsibility for at least $1,000 per month for room and board, or personal bank account statements showing at least $1,000 per month of stay.
  • It takes a maximum of 15 days for the visa application process, however, the period can extend to 30 days for a specific case.
  • The visa fee is 60 Euros and is payable to the consulate of Spain. This fee is non-refundable, even if the person didn’t fill the visa application properly.
  • Police Character Certificates from Lesotho in the past five years. This is applicable to applicants who are 18 years and above. 
  • The PCC should be translated by a certified translator and duly legalized.
  • A Medical certificate of attesting that the applicant is free from disease. The document should be duly legalized and translated into Spanish.
  • Duly legalized consent letter from the parent or legal guardian of an applicant if below 18 years.
  • Applicants must have a valid admission from an educational institution in Spain before commencing the application process.
  • Original receipt of the payment issued for the educational institution concerned in respect of tuition fees for the first year is required.
  • If the applicant has a sponsor, their bank statements for the last 6 months. Only relatives can be a sponsor. The family ties between the applicant and the sponsor must be clearly demonstrated with Birth Certificates.
  • In the student is a minor, it is compulsory to submit an authorization letter signed by both parents. It must be translated into Spanish and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
