Basic Travel Requirements for Lesothos visiting Switzerland

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Swiss Visa.

  • Lesotho passport has 2 full blank pages, one for the visa stamp and an additional spare page.
  • The passport must be valid for at least three (3) months after the date you exit Switzerland.
  • A valid Lesotho residence permit or other forms of Identity Card. 
  • The Lesotho residency permit must be endorsed in the actual passport.
  • One application form filled out completely and signed by the applicant.
  • One passport photograph that has a light background, is brightly colored and shows full face features. 
  • The photo must be less than three months old and be attached with a paper-clip on the application form.
  • A cover/invitation letter that explains the purpose of the visit to Switzerland
  • Proof of travel arrangements such as a copy of round trip flight/travel itinerary showing exit and entry dates to Switzerland is required.
  • Medical/Travel insurance stating that the applicant is covered in case of a medical emergency for the whole duration of stay in Switzerland.
  • Proof of accommodation in Switzerland which could be a copy of a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from a host in Switzerland.

Switzerland Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • A signed visa application form that is fully completed with correct information and signed by the applicant.

  • Valid Lesotho's passport should not be older than ten years and with a minimum validity of three months beyond the applicant’s planned stay in Switzerland.

  • Switzerland visa application form should be completed and signed.
  • Two recently taken photos must be attached to the visa application form. Both photos must be taken within the last three months.
  • A valid Lesotho passport should be valid for at least three more months beyond the date of exit from Switzerland.
  • A round trip reservation or travel itinerary is required.
  • Medical insurance policy, with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros in case of any medical emergency as illnesses, accidents and even repatriation in case of death is required.

  • Letter from the employer in Switzerland introducing the applicant, stating the purpose of the travel as well as the itinerary of the days spend in Switzerland.
  • An invitation letter written by the host company in Switzerland. 
  • The letter should clearly describe the nature of the business to be carried out in Switzerland.
  • The applicant should take note the required company has to be a registered company in Switzerland. 
  • Applicants are required to show certificates showing proof of business registration.
  • It must be stated either in the employer’s letter or the partner company’s invitation that one of both parties will be covering the applicant’s travel expenses during the required stay in Switzerland.
  • If there were previous trade relations between the two companies, applicants are required to provide proof of such an event.
