Application requirements

Documents Libyan applicants need to provide.

  • The Libyan passport must be valid for six months beyond the exit date from Egypt.
  • The passport must have two blank visa pages for the Egyptian visa stamp.
  • One passport 45 mm by 35 mm colour photograph that is taken within the last three months against an all-white background.
  • The passport photograph must display a neutral (non-smiling) expression and the applicant must neither wear eyeglasses nor headwear except for religious purposes.
  • The passport photo should be glued to the visa application form.
  • A fully completed and signed visa application form is required.
  • A copy of the flight confirmation showing exact entry and exit dates and locations.
  • Proof of accommodation or a copy of the hotel reservation is required.
  • Applicants are required to provide an original yellow fever vaccination certificate.
  • Travel/medical insurance that is valid for the whole duration of stay for emergency cases in Egypt is required.
  • A copy of a hotel reservation or an invitation letter to show proof of accommodation is mandatory.
  • Bank statement of the last 6 months showing proof of sufficient funds throughout the required stay in Egypt.
  • A copy of complete travel itinerary showing travel details, information of the applicant, dates of arrival and departure from Egypt.

Visa type details

Tourist visa

  • The tourist visa is issued to foreigners travelling to Egypt for tourism, sightseeing, leisure and family and friends visitation.
  • Original, signed Lybia passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Egypt,
  • The passport should have at least one blank passport page available for the Egyptian visa stamp.
  • One Egypt visa application form that is completely filled and signed by the applicant.
  • Passport photograph against a plain/light background is required.
  • Flight itinerary from the airline or a travel agency or copy of airline ticket showing entry and departure from Egypt.
  • The Yellow fever certificate must be valid for at least 10 days before entering Egypt.
  • The applicant must have a certificate of Polio vaccination prior to entering Egypt.
  • An invitation letter from the host ( family, friend, or tour organization) in Egypt is required.
  • The invitation letter must indicate the host’s home address, telephone number, and a valid means of identification.
  • Provided the applicant’s host is an Egyptian residence, a copy of the Egyptian permit is to be attached to the invitation letter.
  • Applicants that are not citizens of Libya should submit a copy of their legal residence permit should be submitted.
  • Minors travelling without their parents or with one of their parents are required to have a copy of a letter of consent signed by both parents and birth certificate.
  • The original copy of their birth certificate should also be submitted.
  • Applicants are required to return to Libya at the expiration of the Egyptian tourist visa.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee is also to be submitted.
  • Proof of accommodation or hotel reservation is required.
  • Travel itinerary showing entry and exit dates from Egypt is required.
  • Travel insurance that covers the entire duration of stay in Egypt is also to be submitted.
  • Holders of the Egyptian tourist visa must not work or take up study courses while in Egypt.

Business visa

  • The business visa is issued to foreigners visiting Egypt for business purposes such as attending business meetings, conferences and signing contracts with other business partners in Egypt.
  • A travel itinerary that displays the round trip, entry and exit dates to and from Egypt and must show the full name of the applicant.
  • Proof of enough financial funds that cover the applicant's duration of stay in Egypt is required.
  • A business letter from the applicant's company in Libya stating the awareness of the applicant’s business leave and that the applicant is of good conduct.
  • An Invitation letter from the host company in Egypt introducing the applicant and explaining the nature of the business to be conducted.
  • The invitation letter must be printed ob the company’s letterhead, include the duration of stay of the applicant and the contact information of the company.
  • It should be clearly stated in the required letters if the applicant will be financially responsible for the applicant in Egypt.
  • Proof of previous business dealing between the sending and inviting company, if available, is required.
  • A certificate of business registration of the company in Egypt should be provided.
  • Applicants are required to submit receipt showing payment of visa application fees.
  • International Certificate of Vaccination of Yellow Fever should be provided by the applicant.
