- A tourist visa is issued to foreigners for tourist purposes such as recreation, relaxation, and visitation in India.
- Libya passport with a validity of 6 months from the date of departure from India.
- Passports must have two blank spaces for the Indian visa stamps.
- A visa application form that is signed and correctly completed.
- Two recent passport-size photographs taken against a white background is required.
- Applicant’s bank statement of at least 3 months from the period of entry to India showing that the applicant has sufficient funds for the required duration of stay in India.

- An original copy of the return flight ticket should be submitted.
- Documentation showing applicant’s ties to Libya such as national ID cards or photocopies of original property certificates.
- An original police report showing that the applicant does not have any criminal record.
- Copy of confirmed travel itinerary showing travel details, entry and exit date from India.
- Medical insurance showing that the applicant has no contagious disease should cover the duration of stay in India.
- Applicants are to provide proof of the paid visa application fee.

Tourist visa
- The tourist visa is issued to applicants traveling to India for the purpose of leisure and tourism.
- Applicants can also visit their friends or relatives living in India with a tourist visa.
- An invitation letter from the host in India is required.
- The host in India could either be a family member, friend or tour organization.
- The letter must state the relationship between the applicant and the host and must be accompanied by the valid means of identification of the host.
- Holders of this visa are not allowed to take up employment during their required stay in India.
- Minors visiting India are required to be in possession of the original copy of their birth certificate and a notarized consent signed by both parents is required.
- The tourist visa cannot be extended in India.
- Applicants are expected to leave the country on or before the visa expires.
Business visa
- The business visa is issued to foreigners traveling to India for business purposes such as negotiating and signing business contracts with other business partners or companies in India.
- Holders of the business visa can attend trade fairs, conferences, and business seminars relating to their profession.
- An invitation letter from the host company in India is required.
- The letter must state the nature of the business to be carried out ad the duration of the business trip.
- The letter must also state who will be responsible for the applicant’s finances while in the country.
- A letter from the sending company in Libya should be provided.
- The letter must be printed on the company’s letterhead and state the duration and purpose of the business trip.
- The letter must also state that the employer in Libya is aware of the business leave.
- If the applicant will be sponsored by either the sending or inviting company, it should be clearly stated in the required letters.
- Holders of this visa are not permitted to receive payments for the services they render while in India.
- Non-Libyans are required to present a copy of the Libya residence permit.
