Application requirements
Documents Libyan applicants need to provide.
- Passport with a validity of more than 6 months from the intended period of exiting Great Britain.
- The passport should have at least two blank pages for the visa stamp.
- Correctly completed visa application form duly signed by the applicant.
- Two recent passport photographs with a white background.
- Applicant’s bank statement from the past three months prior to the period of visa application.
- Travel insurance which has sufficient medical coverage.
- The insurance should be valid for the duration of the stay in Great Britain.
- Proof of civil status by providing a national ID card or original birth certificate.
- Proof of accommodation for the entire period applicant will be staying in Great Britain.
- Proof of accommodation could either be a hotel reservation or letter of invitation from the hosts indicating that they will be accommodating the applicant.
- Copy of return flight ticket showing that the applicant will go back to Libya after the visa expires.
- Travel itinerary showing exit and entry dates of travel.

Tourist visa
- Original, signed Libya passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity.
- The passport must have two empty pages for the entry stamp.
- 2 recent passport-style photo, with a white background, taken within the last 6 months.
- Visa application form filled out in detail (block letters) and signed by the applicant.
- Copy of round trip tickets or itinerary showing detailed travel information of the applicant.
- Property papers showing ties to Libya of the applicant are required.
- Copies of bank statements from the past 3 months showing proof of sufficient funds.
- Copy of the hotel reservations as proof of accommodation is required.
- A letter of invitation with the contact information of the host and visitor, purpose and duration of the visit, confirmation of accommodation including the address, signature, and date.
- The applicant will also need to provide proof of the host's status in Great Britain such as a copy of their Great Britain passport's information page.
- If the applicant is not a citizen of Great Britain, copies of their Great Britain residence permit and their national passport's information pages.
- Holders of a tourist visa are not required to work or study in Great Britain.
Business visa
- This visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of visiting Great Britain for business purposes such as negotiation and signing of business contracts during their time in Great Britain, attending trade fairs, conferences, and business summits.
- A letter from the inviting company in Great Britain which is printed on the company’s letterhead should be provided.
- The letter should state the nature of the business to be carried out and the duration of the applicant’s visit.
- The letter should state if the host company or the inviting company will take responsibility for the applicant’s finances while in the country.
- A letter from the applicant’s employer in Libya should be provided.
- The letter from Libya should state awareness of business leave.
- If there have been any trade relations between the host company and the inviting company, proof of this is required.
- Non-Libyans should provide a copy of their residence permit.
- Proof of payment of visa application fee is required.
