Brazil visa requirements for Malagasys

The Brazilian tourist visa can also be referred to as a visitor's visa.

Malagasy travelling for tourism, business, transit, art or sporting activities are the recipients of the Brazilian tourist visa.

Applicant visiting relatives or friends can do so on this visa.

A letter of invitation from the applicant's host in Brazil will be required.

The letter should contain the full contact address of the host and a valid means of identification.

Applicants of this visa can also participate in conferences, seminars, congresses or meetings, voluntary service or research activity, and educational or academic extension.

Participants of conferences, seminars, athletic or art events, and competitions will require an original letter of invitation from the organizing institution in Brazil.

Applicants valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the proposed date of travel should be submitted.

The passport must contain two consecutive blank pages and the passport must not be torn, separated or altered.

 A duly signed and completed visa application form should be submitted.

If the applicant is employed, a letter of awareness of the applicants leave should be provided by the employer and should clearly state the duration of the applicants' leave.

The Brazilian tourist visa is mostly issued as a multiple entry visa.

Proof of financial sufficiency that covers the applicant's trip should be submitted.

Proof of incentive of returning to Madagascar at the expiration of the applicant's visa should be submitted.

Proof of hotel reservation or accommodation should be provided.

This visa is enabled for multiple entries within its authorized duration.

Minors are to submit a copy of their original birth certificate along side a letter of consent from one or both parents.

Proof of payment of visa application fee should also be provided.

The Brazilian tourist visa has a validity of 90 days.

An extension of the tourist visa is possible but should be made before the expiration of the current visa.

All documents and applications submitted by applicants should be written in Portuguese.

The Brazilian business visa is issued to Malagasy visiting Brazil for business purposes.

Bearers of this visa can attend business meetings and conferences and conclude contracts.

Applicants should be in possession of a valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the proposed date of travel.

Applicants travelling on behalf of their employer are to submit a letter from their employer stating the purpose and duration of their visit.

The host or partner company should provide a letter of invitation stating the nature of the business to be carried out and the duration of the visit.

If the host company will be financially responsible for the applicant, it should be clearly stated in their letter.

Applicants who are self-employed are to submit a copy of their business registration.

A copy of their Income Tax Return for the last 6 months should be submitted.

Proof of previous business dealings in the company should be provided, if any.

Proof of financial sufficiency that covers the applicant's duration of stay should be submitted.

Proof of incentive of returning to Madagascar at the expiration of this visa should be submitted.

Proof of hotel reservation or accommodation should be submitted.

Proof of payment of visa application fee should be submitted.

All documents submitted to the Brazilian embassy should be translated to Portuguese.

The  Brazilian student’s visa is issued to Malagasy travelling to Brazil for study purposes.

Applicants should ensure that they have been offered admission into an institute of learning in Brazil before initiating this process.

Letter of admission issued to the applicant should be submitted to the embassy.

The letter should outline the nature of the study being undertaken in Brazil.

Applicants are to apply for a visitor's/tourist visa if the program of study does not exceed 90 days 

Holders of this visa are allowed to undertake paid legal employment in Brazil as long as it is compatible with their coursework load.

Transcripts and certificates that qualifies the applicant for the course of study should be submitted.

Proof of part or full payment of tuition fee should be submitted.

Police Certificate issued within the last three months, certifying the absence of criminal record should be provided.

Minors are required to have their original birth certificate accompanied by a letter of consent signed by both their parents.
