Germany visa requirements for Malagasys

The German tourist visa is issued to Malagasy visiting Germany for leisure, relaxation and vacation purposes. 

Malagasy can also visit friends and relatives on this visa.

If the applicant's purpose of visit is to meet up with a friend or relation, a letter of invitation would be required.

The letter should contain the full contact details of the host. A valid means of identification of the host should be attached to the letter.

Applicants passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the proposed date of travel should be submitted.

A duly signed and completed visa application form should be submitted.

A letter from the applicant's employer stating their awareness of the applicants leave and duration of leave granted.

Proof of financial sufficiency that covers the applicant's duration of stay should be submitted.

Applicants should show proof of hotel reservation or accommodation that covers their duration of stay.

A travel health insurance that covers the applicant's duration of stay should be submitted or its equivalent of 30,000 euros.

Applicants are to provide travel itinerary with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Germany.

Proof that the applicant has the intention of exiting Germany at the expiration of the tourist visa should be submitted.

A certificate of medical fitness that shows that the applicant is free from all forms of communicable diseases should be submitted.

With the tourist visa, you are not allowed to study or work while you are in the country.

You cannot take up a course to study in any of the institutions of learning in the country.

Receipt of paid visa application fees should be provided during visa application.

At the expiration of your visa, you are expected to leave the country.

Malagasy travelling with the intention of carrying out business transactions are the recipients of the German business visa.

Bearers of this visa can attend conferences, meetings, business summits, and trade fairs whilst they are in the country.

Applicants international passport with a minimum validity of 6 months should be provided.

A letter from the applicant's employer should be submitted.

The letter should clearly state the purpose of the applicant's visit and the duration of the visit.

The host company in Germany should provide a letter stating their awareness of the applicant's visit and the nature of business to be carried out.

If the applicant is self-employed, a copy of their certificate of business registration should be submitted.

The income tax return certificate of the parent company in Madagascar should be submitted.

Proof of previous business dealings between both companies.

If the financial burden of the applicants trip would be taken care of by their employer, it should be clearly stated. 

Applicant's travel insurance with a minimum value of 30,000 euros should be submitted.

Proof of hotel reservation or accommodation that covers applicant's duration of stay should be submitted.

An incentive that shows that the applicant has the willingness to return to Madagascar at the expiration of the visa should be submitted.

Applicant's travel itinerary should be submitted.

Yellow fever vaccination is compulsory.

The German student visa is issued to Malagasy with the intention of studying in any of the academical institutions in Germany.

Applicants should ensure that they have been offered admission before initiating the visa process.

Applicants should be in possession of a valid international passport.

Applicants offer of admission should be submitted.

A letter from the institution in Germany addressed to the embassy stating that the applicant has been offered admission.

All documents submitted for this visa application must contain original and 2 clear photocopies.

Transcripts and certificates that qualifies the applicant for the course of study should be submitted.

If the certificates do not match the course in which the applicant has been offered admission, applicants might be denied visa.

Proof of part or full payment of the applicant's tuition fee should be submitted.

Proof of financial sufficiency that covers the applicant's duration of stay should be submitted.

Proof of hostel reservation or accommodation that covers the applicant's duration of stay should be submitted.

Applicants should be in possession of a travel health insurance with a minimum value of 30,000 euros.

A medical certificate stating you don’t carry any diseases that may endanger public health (such as TB, diseases that require quarantine and other infectious diseases) is also required.

A certificate that shows that the applicant has been vaccinated against yellow fever should be submitted.

Proof of clean criminal record of the applicant which shows that the applicant has not been convicted before should submitted.

Malagasy on this visa can work part-time when school is in session and full time when they are on break.

It will be necessary for Applicants to learn the German language seeing that the language of instruction at most universities in Germany is  written in German.
