Austria Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • A tourist visa is issued to foreigners for the purposes of tourism, family visit or friends' visit to Austria.
  • An Austrian tourist visa will be given to people who wish to travel and explore the country for tourism purposes.
  • The tourist visa will be valid only for 90 days from the day of issue.
  • Photocopies of previous passports and visa are required.

  • A business visa does not grant the applicant to take up new employment in Austria.

  • Applicants can also attend conferences, seminars, or job interviews while in Austria.
  • You are required to provide a letter of invitation from the company in Austria you are meeting with.

  • Evidence of intention to return to Malawi which could be electricity bill or photocopies of property certificate.

  • It must be clearly stated whether the applicant will be sponsored by the employer or the Austrian company in the business letter.
