- A completely filled and signed Czech Republic visa application form.
- Malawi passport that is valid for 6 months beyond stay in the Czech Republic.
- The passport must also have 2 blank pages for the visa stamp.
- Two identical 2x2 coloured passport-sized photographs taken on a white background.
- A well-detailed travel itinerary that covers the details of travel and entry into and exit from the Czech Republic.
- Flight reservations and return tickets are needed.
- Applicants will need to show proof of residency status in Malawi.
- Proof of retirement funds is required for retired visa applicants.
- Proof of accommodation which could be a hotel booking or an invitation letter from the host in the Czech Republic confirming that the applicant will be provided accommodation.
- A valid means of identification from the host is also required.
- Recent bank statements are needed for this application.
- For minors, an original birth certificate and letter of consent signed by both parents should be submitted.

Tourist visa
- The tourist visa is issued to foreigners travelling to the Czech Republic for tourism purposes such as recreation, relaxation, and sightseeing.
- Correctly filled and signed Czech Republic tourist Visa Application Form.
- Two passport-sized photos, not older than three months, taken against a white background is required.
- Valid Malawi passport issued within the last 10 years and valid for a minimum of 3 months beyond the required stay in France.
- The passport must have at least two blank pages for visa affixation.
- Photocopies of previous visa and passports, if available, is required.
- Certificate of a criminal record of Malawi showing that the applicant has no criminal record in Malawi.
- Travel Itinerary that shows details of applicant's activities in the Czech Republic, dates of arrival and departure from the Czech Republic.
- Proof of Accommodation in the Czech Republic, either from a hotel, or a letter of invitation if you are planning to stay over at friends or relatives.
- Bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds for the whole duration of stay in the Czech Republic.
- Receipt of paid visa application fee is required.
- You are not allowed to work or study during your stay in the country.
- An invitation letter from the host, be it a family member, a friend or a tour organization in the Czech Republic is required.
- The letter should indicate the purpose of the trip, duration of visit and relationship between the applicant and the host.
- The invitation letter from the tour organization must indicate that the applicant has completed all tourist registration and paid the required tour fee.
- It must also be clearly stated if the host will be financially responsible for the applicant throughout the duration of stay in the Czech Republic.
Business visa
- The business visa is granted to foreigners visiting the Czech Republic for strictly business purposes.
- An invitation letter from the Czech Republic company you will be visiting and their detailed address accompanied with the dates of your visit.
- The letter must clearly state the type of business to be conducted in the Czech Republic.
- A certificate/cover letter from your employer stating/allowing your business travel.
- If there were previous trade relations between the two companies, proof of such events must be provided.
- Receipt of paid visa application fee is required.
- You are required to provide the original copies of all documents with clear double-sided photocopies at the embassy. You should not staple the documents together.
- If you are self-employed, you should submit proof of business certification such as the Business License and the company's certified bank account statements for the last three months.
- A business bank statement of the latest 6 months is required.
- Memorandum and Article of Association in original certified copy (registered with joint-stock companies) Trade License (first issued and present renewal), Proprietorship/Partnership documents is required.
- Regarding the applicant’s expenses during stay in the Czech Republic, either the employer or the partner company must state coverage of expenses on the letter or invitation.
