Basic Travel Requirements for Malawians visiting France

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a French Visa.


  • A valid passport with at least 3 month's validity before the return date is required.
  • The passport should have at least two blank pages.
  • France visa application form that is completely filled and signed is required.
  • 2 recent passport photos displaying whole-face captured with a light background.
  • A copy of your return-ticket reservation. It is not recommended to purchase the ticket before obtaining the visa.
  • Travel visa insurance with a confirmation of a minimum of 30,000 € coverage within France for the whole duration of stay is required.
  • A cover letter stating the purpose of a visit to France and itinerary is required.
  • Flight ticket reservations. 
  • Proof of accommodation for the entire stay in France.
  • Proof of civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, ration card if applicable).
  • Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay.
