Basic Travel Requirements for Malaysians visiting Cameroon
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Cameroonian Visa.
- An original Malaysian passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
- A duly completed and signed visa application form.
- If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
- One recent passport-sized photograph with dimensions of 7cm by 5cm(with the name of the applicant on the back) taken in white background.
- Travel document.
- Proof of financial support.
- Proof of accommodation.
- Copy of return flight ticket.
- Documentation showing applicant’s ties to home country, e.g. verification from applicant’s employer.
- Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.

Cameroon Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Malaysians intending to travel to Cameroon for tourism or leisure should apply for a Cameroonian tourist visa.
- This visa is valid for 90 days.
- An international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever is required. Other vaccines and treatments for malaria are also recommended.
- A letter of invitation or a certificate of accommodation by your host legalized by a competent local Cameroonian administrative authority must be provided.
- The letter of invitation should serve as a guarantee for the accommodation of the applicant and/or the care of the applicant during his stay.
- Proof of financial sustenance must be provided. This should come in the form of a signed copy of a bank statement indicating a minimum sum of 3000 dollars.
- Copy of marriage certificate or declaration of the common-law union must be provided (for persons who are married or in legal cohabitation).
- While there are no official restrictions, travelers are required to make a declaration when they are exiting the country with XAF 3,000,000 or more.
- While in Cameroon, avoid all travel to the Far North Region, which includes the regional capital cities of Maroua and the Lake Chad region.
- The Hilton and Mont Febe hotels offer a shuttle service from Yaoundé-Nsimalen Airport to downtown Yaoundé. You should use this service or retain the services of a reputable private transport company.
- You are subject to local laws while in the country. If you violate local laws, even unknowingly, you may be expelled, arrested, or imprisoned.
- You may be taken in for questioning by the police if unable to produce an acceptable form of identification, travel permit, or Cameroonian driver’s license when asked.
- Cameroon is primarily a cash-based economy. Due to the potential for fraud and other criminal activities, tourists are advised to limit their use of credit cards and be cautious when using ATMs.
- Exchange currency only at reputable banks. Money transfer services are found throughout the country.
Cameroon Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Cameroonian business visa is issued to the citizens of Malaysia with the intention of conducting business in the country.
- The business visa is of two types:
- The single-entry visa -- allows one entry into the country and processed within 8 business days.
- Multiple-entry visa -- allows multiple entries into the country and processed within 10 business days.
- The single-entry visa is of two types:
- The Expedited
- Standard single-entry.
- Once the business visa is issued to the applicant, its recipient must enter Cameroon within ninety (90) days of the date of issuance.
- The granted visa will start counting or will be valid for the duration (up to 30 days, 3 months, or 6 months) printed in the traveler’s passport as of the date of entry into Cameroon.
- After 90 days, a visa becomes void if it has not been used within that time-frame.
- For multiple-entry visas, a traveler is allowed to re-enter, after exiting Cameroon the first time, only during the validity period remaining on the visa.
- Applicants are required to provide an invitation letter from the host company in Cameroon.
- This letter must contain details such as duration of stay, sponsorship, the applicant's name, and business registration.
