Tourist visa
- The Chad tourist visa is issued to Malaysians traveling to Chad for visitation and tourism purposes.
- This visa is valid for 90 days.
- For applicants visiting someone in Congo Brazzaville, you are required to have a letter of invitation from your host.
- The letter should have the home address, contact details and a valid means of identification.
- For minors, an original copy of your birth certificate should be provided.
- If you are a minor traveling alone, you need a letter of consent signed by both parents.
- If you are traveling with your spouse, a copy of a valid marriage certificate is required.
- It is mandatory for all applicants to have a yellow fever vaccination certificate.
- It is recommended that applicants of this visa should be vaccinated against Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus.
- A letter from your employer in Malaysia stating a continuity of employment after the duration of your leave should be provided.
- Receipt of paid visa application fees is required.
- There should be proof of the incentive of returning to Malaysia after the expiry of your visa.
- The Congolese Franc is the currency of Congo (CDF) but U.S. dollars are widely accepted in urban areas.
- Counterfeit currency is widely circulated. Examine U.S. bills before accepting them to ensure they are legitimate. Exchange currency only at reputable banks.
- It is illegal to take pictures of government buildings, military installations, and along border areas. You could be fined, have your photographic equipment confiscated, or be detained or arrested. Do not take photos of Congolese without permission.
Business visa
- The Chad business visa is issued to Malaysians traveling to Chad for business purposes.
- This visa is valid for 90 days, however applicants who plan on staying in the Republic of Congo for more than 30 days, he/she should extend the visa at the nearest Immigration Office.
- Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required.
- An official letter of invitation from the company in Congo Brazzaville is required.
- The address of the company, the duration, and purpose of the business visit should be stated in detail. The letter should be addressed to “The Embassy of the Republic of Congo” and must be stamped by the local Department of Immigration.
- The letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant and must provide detailed contact information in Congo.
- If the company you are meeting up with is covering the financial aspect of your visit to the country, it should be stated in the letter from the company.
- Applicants are to possess a valid medical insurance.
- You cannot be paid for any of the services you render while in the country.
- If you are traveling with a minor, an affidavit signed by both parents of the minor should be provided.
- Documents which show that you have the incentive of returning to Malaysia at the end of your trip should be provided.
