Austria Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Foreigners applying for the tourist visa have the intention of visiting Austria for the purpose of tourism and leisure.
  • The Austrian visa can either be single or multiple entries.
  • The tourist visa is non-refundable and is usually a Type C or D  visa.
  • Proof of health insurance that covers medical emergencies with a minimum of €30,000, for the whole period of stay. 
  • A cover letter mentioning your details, travel plans, and details of the other members traveling with you should also be submitted.
  • While you are in the country with this visa, you cannot take up a course to study in any of the institutions of learning in Austria.

  • This visa is issued to Malians traveling to Austria to take up a course of study they have been accepted to in Austria.
  • Applicants who have been accepted into an academic institution in Austria should present the letter of acceptance from the institution.
  • The letter should be printed on the company’s letterhead and must state the course the applicant and the duration of the study program.
  • If the applicant of this visa is under the age of 18 years, the original copy of the child’s birth certificate should be provided. If the applicant is traveling without supervision, a notarized consent signed by both parents of the minor is required.
  • International students in Austria are allowed to work part-time when school is in session and full-time when on break.
  • Foreigners in the country on this visa are not allowed to seek public funds during their time there.

  • This visa type is not issued on the day of application and may take up to four weeks.
  • Visa and other entry permits of the destination country should be provided during the visa application.
