Application requirements
Documents Malian applicants need to provide.

- If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.

Visa type details
Tourist visa
- This is the type of visa issued to persons intending to visit Russia for tourism purposes.
- You can also visit family and friends while on this visa.
- All visitors to Russia must carry a valid passport.
- Your total stay is counted starting from the day you enter Russia.
- Visa applicants intending to visit a friend or family need to submit an invitation letter from a family member or host living in Russia.
- This letter should clearly state the address and contact details of the host, as well as your relationship with them.
- During the visa application, you will need to provide proof of sufficient funds to last the duration of your stay.
- You are advised to exit the country before your visa expires and present documents that show you have the intention to do so.
- This visa does not serve study purposes. You cannot be enrolled in any of the institutions of learning in the country.
Business visa
- This is the type of visa issued to Malians traveling to Russia for business purposes.
- The Russian business visa is a multiple entry visa valid for 30 to 90 days.
- You can sign contracts, partake in auctions and exhibitions and also speak at business-related events while on this visa.
- You will need to provide an invitation letter from the Russian company you will be visiting.
- This letter will also contain their detailed address, accompanied by the date and actual purpose of your trip.
- If the intention is to attend a meeting or seminar, confirmation/invitation from the conference organizer/institution is required.
- If you are employed, you will have to present a certificate from your employer stating or allowing your business travel.
- Proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months) is required.
- Self-employed people may need to submit proof of business registration.
- You cannot be gainfully employed while you are in the country with this visa.
- It must be made clear whether your trip will be sponsored by the employer or the local company.
- Proof of payment of visa application fee should be submitted.
Work visa
- You will need a work visa if you intend to take up paid employment in Russia.
- The work visa is the most complex and expensive of all visa types to Russia.
- There are two categories of Russian work visa: the single-entry work visa (valid for 90 days) and the multiple-entry visa (valid for no more than 1 year).
- Processing a Russian work visa can be a long process.
- It can take up to 100 days for the hiring company to complete the paperwork.
- Since a work permit is valid for only a year, it is recommended that you start your application in time.
- Visa applicants must be able to demonstrate their qualifications for the job role.
- Valid medical insurance is required.
- In some cases, the applicant will be required to submit documents that show they have a clean criminal record.
