Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Guyanese Visa.

  • 3 copies of the filled and signed application form
  • A valid passport with blank pages for visa stamping
  • 3 passport-sized photographs not older than six months
  • Proof of civil status(single, married, divorced etc)
  • International certificate of vaccination
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the trip
  • Copy of the travel itinerary/plans
  • Invitation letter
  • Round trip flight ticket
  • Hotel reservation or other proof of accommodation
  • Applications submitted through mail must have a money order attached to cover return postage
  • Travel insurance with sufficient medical coverage for the duration of the trip

Guyana Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Tourist visa is used for leisure purposes, recreation and relaxation
  • Holders of this visa can also attend carnivals, weddings and other related events
  • You cannot use this visa to study regardless of how short the duration of the course 
  • Applications should be submitted about 6 weeks in advance to allow enough time for processing
  • A letter of invitation from host in Guyana is required. The letter should contain information such as relationship between the host and applicant, exact purpose of visit and duration of stay.
  • Hotel reservation or proof of accommodation
  • If you intend to stay with a relative, the relative’s information such as name,address and contact number will be required
  • In the case that you need to extend your stay, apply for an extension before your visa expires
  • Visa can be extended at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Georgetown 
  • Penalty for overstaying your visa is severe and can range from heavy fines to imprisonment
  • There is no guarantee of visa being granted so preparations are at the applicant’s risk
  • Getting the visa does not guarantee entry, entry is dependent on fulfilling immigration requirements at the port of entry into Guyana

Guyana Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Business visa is issued to individuals that want to travel to Guyana for commercial purposes, conducting of business transactions, negotiate transactions
  • It can also be used to attend conferences and witness in court trials
  • Incomplete and poorly completed forms will delay the processing of visa.
  • Guyana business visa is of single entry and multiple entry visa types
  • The single entry visa is valid for 90 days and the multiple entry visa is valid for as long as one year
  • Original and photocopy of business registration certificate and tax clearance should be submitted by the self employed
  • You are also required to provide an invitation letter from the host registered company or organization in Guyana
  • The invitation letter should carry the following information:
    • All personal information of the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.)
    • Details about the planned trip such as purpose of visit, arrival and departure dates, place(s) of visit, relations between the applicant and the inviting entity, financial source for expenditures
    • All details of the inviting entity (name, contact number, address, official stamp, signature of the legal representative of the entity, etc)
  • For extension of the visa contact the Ministry of Home Affairs in Georgetown before the expiry of the current visa
  • You cannot engage in manual labor in Guyana with a Business visa.
