Iraq Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Iraq tourist visa is issued to those who intend to visit Iraq  for tourism or leisure.
  • The  Iraq tourist visa is categorized into two (2), based on the number of entries allowed:
  • Single Entry — allows one entry (30 days - 60 days)
  • Multiple Entry — allows multiple entries (within 30 days from the first day entry  - 60 days)
  • Your passport should be valid for six months to be able to gain entry. 
  • Your  duration of stay has to be for 30 days  including entry and departure. 
  • The validity of permit is usually  60 days which also includes the issuance days. 
  • The photographs needed are colored photos with a white background (4.5 *5.5 cms).
  • The color copy of your passport Bio page and Last Page  MUST contain the  details of your full name, nationality, date and place of birth, passport number,  date of issue and entry. 
  • If you are invited by a friend or a relative, an invitation letter, a passport copy and valid residence copy of the host is required by the embassy issuing you a visa. 

Iraq Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements


  • A business visa is for Mauritian visitors who want to visit Iraq for business.
  • You have to complete a Iraq visa application during when you wish to travel to Iraq for business.
  • You have to submit two passports types which should include:
  • A physical passport with at least  6 months validity beyond travel duration  and one blank visa page.
  • As a non-USA passport holder traveling to Iraq, you must provide a copy of your green card. 
  • You are required to provide a company business letter with contact information and purpose of your visit.  
  • You are also required  to provide. an invitation letter if when you are invited by an Iraq host. The invitation letter should include the following information: all the details of the inviting home, his/her name, contact number, address, official stamp, signature of the legal representative of the host
  • The invitation letter should detail your personal information which includes your full name, gender, date of birth, etc.
  • The invitation letter should contain the purpose of your visit, when you plan to leave and your arrival date, the place(s) of visit, your relationship between you and the inviting host,   financial source for your expenditures.  
  • If you wish to visit a Iraq for business, you are required to provide HIV test results. The tests have to be certified by the Consulate Section of Iraq embassy. 
  •  The visa validity is three months and may extended while in Iraq. 
  • The Iraq business visa are processed once approved by the Iraq  Ministry of affairs. 
  • The processing time varies depends on the time that Consulate gives his approval. It usually takes three to four weeks. Once it is approves, the visa is issued within 2 to 4 business days.  

Iraq Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Iraq work visa is for Mauritians who intend to work in Iraq
  • The Iraq work visa gives investors and business owners the right to employ foreign workers.
  • If you want to obtain a work permit, you  will need to submit an employment offer issued to by your employee.
  • You will need to submit a written request by your employer, indicating the validity of your employment status.  
  • Your documents will have be reviewed by government department before an approval is issued to your visa application.
  • As a non-citizen you expected  to have received an official offer from either Iraqi authorities, respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs and letters from the Chamber of Commerce, as well as a letter from your prospective employer stating the reason for your travel and inviting you to work in Iraq.
  • Your  potential  employer is expected to submit a written request to the Ministry of Labour and social affairs. This should include all required information and supporting documents, your employee’s name, nationality, type and duration of work, employer’s name and address.
  • One of the documents needed include a Visa Application form.
  • Your two of photographs should be colored. 
  • The colored copy of your passport should have at least 6 months validity.
