Basic Travel Requirements for Mauritians visiting Libya

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Libyan Visa.


  • Visitors who wish to travel to Libya are required to obtain their visas from Libyan Diplomatic  Mission unless they are from countries exempted from using a visa to gain entry. 
  • Visitors are expected to convert their currencies to US $1000, or an equivalent, whether in a freely convertible cash or to debit the amount from a valid card. 
  •  A copy of an invitation letter showing  proof of covering the visitor’s expenses during the duration of his/her stay.
  • Entry and transit is refused to Israeli citizens
  • Entry is also denied to citizens of Bangladesh, Iran, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Pakistan. 
  • Applicant is required to provide his travel documents
  • An evidence showing proof of visit to Israel. 
  • A copy of letter issued by the Libyan Diplomatic Immigration authorities. 
  • Proof of the host’s accommodation
  • A fully completed Libya Visa application.. 
  • A proof of financial support .
  • A copy of travel itinerary 
  • Four passports on a white or off-white background (60mm x35mm) would be required
