Basic Travel Requirements for Mauritians visiting Mongolia

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Mongolian Visa.

  • Mongolia application form must be filled, signed and stamped.
  • Mauritius passport must be valid for six months after the expected stay in Mongolia. 
  • The passport should have at least two blank pages.
  • Documents should be provided in either Mongolian or English.
  • For minors traveling alone, birth certificate and consent note signed y parents is required. 
  • One recent 3 x 4 cm front view passport photographs with white background. 
  • Passport photographs should be taken within the last three months.
  • A travel itinerary is required.
  • Copies of documents confirming the purpose of travel.
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Bank statements that show proof of financial support for the duration of stay.
  • Original certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever.
  • Proof of return flight ticket to Mauritius.
  • A police report showing the traveler does not have a criminal record.
  • Maximum stay in Mongolia is 30 days and it starts from the date of entry to Mongolia.

Mongolia is a prime tourist destination because of its national museum which displays historic and ethnographic artifacts. Do not buy, sell, kill or capture any protected wild animal or trade its parts without a license. Anyone caught would receive lengthy prison sentences and a fine. Be aware of the local customs and avoid wearing short sleeves, this can be seen as offensive.
 
Nationals of United States, Brazil, Georgia, Serbia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine can visit Mongolia for up to 90 days without a visa. Citizens of Canada, Cuba, Germany, Israel, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, and Russia are allowed to visit the country without a visa for up to 30 days.

Mongolia Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to visitors for the purpose of business meetings, conferences and sign business contracts.
  • Mongolia application form that is correctly filled, signed and stamped is required.
  • Mauritius passport must be valid for six months after the expected stay in Mongolia. 
  • The passport should have at least two blank pages for entry stamp.
  • Documents should be provided in either Mongolian or English.
  • For minors, birth certificate and consent note signed by parents is required. 
  • One recent 3 by 4 cm passport photographs with white background is required and must be taken within the last three months.
  • The duration of the business visa lasts for 30 days.
  • If stay will exceed  30 days in Mongolia, the visitor is required to register for an extension at the Immigration Authority within 7 days after arrival in the country.
  • Visitors should provide a copy of an employment letter from the employer in Mauritius stating the purpose and duration of the trip.  
  • Visitors should provide a copy of the hotel confirmation or proof of accommodation showing the applicant´s name.
  • Visitors are required to provide visa permission approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.

Mongolia Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Applicants should provide Mongolia application form that is correctly filled, signed and stamped.
  • Mauritius passport should be valid for at least six months beyond stay in Mongolia. 
  • The passport should have at least two blank pages for entry stamp.
  • Documents should be provided in either Mongolian or English.
  • One recent 3 by 4 cm front view passport photographs with white background. 
  • Passport photographs should be taken within the last three months.
  • Applicants should provide bank statements showing proof of financial support for the duration of stay.
  • Maximum stay for a transit visa in Mongolia is 10 days and it starts from the date of entry to Mongolia.
  • This visa is issued for train travelers that cannot leave the train while in  Mongolia.
  • The flight or train tickets clearly indicating the applicant is not stopping over in Mongolia.
