Application requirements

- Turkmenistan application form that is correctly completed and signed.
- Visa applications should be typed and submitted capital letters.
- Handwritten applications will not be accepted by the Embassy.
- Original Mauritius Signed Passport that is valid for 6 months.
- The passport should have one blank page.
- If you do not have any blank page on your passport, you should apply for additional pages at the embassy.
- A copy of your round trip airline tickets, or itinerary.
- The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure details.
- Endorsement and amendment pages on the passport will not be accepted for Turkmenistan Visa.
- Two recent 2 x 2 color passport photographs, in front view and with a white background.
- Passport photographs should be glued to the Turkmenistan application form as a staple will not be accepted.
- Turkmenistan visa is valid for three months and it usually takes 10 business days to be processed.
- Proof of sufficient funds is required by providing a bank statement showing that the applicant has enough funds for the trip.
- Proof of no criminal record signed by the local police department in Mauritius.

Business visa
- A business visa is granted to visitors who intend to enter Turkmenistan for business activities.
- Letter of invitation on letterhead from the organization in Turkmenistan to be visited,
- The letter should be certified by the State Foreign Citizens Registration Service of Turkmenistan
- This visa permits a stay of 3 months
- An application form must be accurately filled and signed.
- Original Mauritius passport that is valid for at least 6 months with one blank page.
- An original copy of a letter of invitation from a Turkmenistan company addressed to the Consulate of Turkmenistan in your home country in Mauritius.
- This letter should include applicants' full name, the reason for stay and the business to be conducted between your company and the inviting Turkmenistan company.
- Applicants are to provide a round trip ticket to serve as proof that the applicant would return to their home country when the visa expires.
- You are also required to secure hotel accommodation in Turkmensia for the entire duration of your stay in the country and provide proof of this.
Tourist visa
- The tourist visa is granted to those who intend to visit for tourism, visiting family and friends and getting involved in other leisure activities.
- Original Mauritius Signed Passport that is valid for 6 months.
- The passport should have one blank page.
- An application form that is completely signed.
- Two recent 2 x 2 color passport photographs, in front view and with a white background.
- A letter of invitation from the host is required.
- The letter of invitation must be approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- The maximum stay for a tourist is 3 months.
- Under-aged applicants are to provide consent note signed by parent authorizing the embassy to issue the visa to the child.
- A copy of the birth certificate and other important documents such as the parent’s ID is required.
- Holder of this visa is not permitted to work or take up educational activities.
- Applicants should apply 3 months in advance before the intended date of travel.
Transit visa
- Transit visa is granted to individuals to allow them to pass through or transit through Turkmenistan to the third party country.
- Original Mauritius Signed Passport that is valid for 6 months.
- The passport should have one blank page.
- An application form that is completely signed
- Two recent 2 x 2 color passport photographs, in front view and with a white background.
- Letter of invitation for a transit visa is not required
- Applicants should take note that the two countries in question mustn’t have any transit route between them other than through Turkmenistan.
- The maximum stay for a transit visa is 5 days and it starts from the date of entry.
- Transit visa does not allow a stay for more than 5 days.
