Brazil Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Mozambicans looking to travel to Brazil for  tourism purposes can apply for the Brazilian tourist visa.
  • Brazil tourist visa is a short duration visa. It permits a visitor to stay in Brazil for up to 90 days per year.
  • You must provide proof of your financial ability so as to support yourself financially during your stay in Brazil and for your return transportation. Brazil requires visitors to have at least USD 100 per day for staying in Brazil.
  • You must provide a formal statement of your financial situation from your bank for the previous 6 months.
  • Travelers with more than 2,400 USD must be declared to customs.
  • For minors traveling with only one parent, the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate may require a birth certificate and notarized travel authorization from both parents to issue a visa to a minor and/or depart Brazil with the minor.
  • Travel authorization documents for minors need to be frequently issued, authenticated, or directly legalized from the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate.
  • Informal housing developments in Brazil (commonly referred to in Brazil as favelas, vilas, communidades, and/or satellite cities) are not safe to visit even on a guided tour as neither the tour companies nor the police can guarantee your safety when entering these areas.

  • The local equivalent to the “911” emergency line in Brazil is divided between three services:

    • 190 - Policia (Police)
    • 192 - Ambulancia (Ambulance)
    • 193 - Bombeiros (Fire Department)

Brazil Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This type of visa is issued to businessmen, representatives or employees of foreign companies who want to visit Brazil for business purposes.
  • With this visa, applicants can attend business meetings, conferences and conclude contracts.
  • A covering letter from the applicant’s company is required. The letter must be written on the company's letterhead stating the name of the company,  the designation of the candidate, the department he or she works in and the company's contact number.
  • A notarized letter of invitation from the concerned organisation in Brazil is needed. The letter should be written in both English and Portuguese. The letter should also include all the details of the company, such as the registration number of the organisation, the duration and purpose of stay of the applicant.
  • If the applicant is a business owner, a copy of your certificate of business registration and latest tax returns is required.
  • If your employer is to assume the financial responsibility of your trip, it should be stated in the letter from your employer.
  • Proof of previous business dealings in the company should be provided, if any.

Brazil Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Brazilian work visa is for Mozambicans assigned to work in Brazil.
  •  Applicants are advised to ensure they have been offered a job in Brazil before initiating the application as an employment verification letter will be required.
  • A letter from your future employer should be submitted. The letter should be written on the company’s letterhead and should state the address of the company and your job description.
  • Your employment contract which determines the terms of employment signed by both the employer and the employee is required.
  • Your employer will need to provide proof that there was no Brazilian willing and available to take up the job before you were offered the job.
  • Applicants of this visa who do not have the right qualification which matches the job they have been offered may not be issued this visa.
  • Applicants employer are to prove that the Mozambican will not be paid below the Brazilian minimum wage.
  • If you are traveling with a minor, the original copy of the minor’s birth certificate is required. A notarized consent signed by both the minor’s parent should also be submitted.
  • The short-term work visa which is valid for 90 days can be obtained by foreign nationals willing to work in Brazil by getting an approval directly from the Brazilian consular offices. The applicant needs to provide the contract that has been signed as proof to the immigration department.
