How to get a Malawi visa from Mozambique

• Mozambicans who have intentions of visiting Malawi for the purpose tourism can apply for the Malawian tourist visa.
• This visa type is also for Mozambicans travelling to Malawi to visit friends and family.
• Holders of this visa can attend events and festivals taking place in the country while they are there.
• There are two types of Malawi visa:
• Single-entry visa - valid for one month.
• Multiple-entry visa - valid for three to six months.
• If you have been invited by a friend or relative in the country, a letter of invitation from your host should be provided. Information on the letter from your host should include your host’s home address and telephone number.
• If you are not staying with a friend or family, a copy of a confirmed hotel reservation is required. If staying in more than one hotel, please provide copies of each hotel reservations.
• You must have a detailed flight itinerary under your name. The itinerary must also show your entry and exit flight plans.
• Minors traveling with one or none of their parents should provide a letter of consent signed by both parents of the minor. Also, the original copy of the minor’s birth certificate should be submitted.
• Travelers are advised to be vaccinated against Yellow Fever before traveling to the country. Travelers must have a copy of an International Certificate of Vaccination (ICV) for Yellow Fever.

• The Malawi business visa is for Mozambicans intending to visit Malawi for business purposes.
• A business letter from applicants company in Mozambique or the sponsoring company in Malawi is required.
• The business letter from the sending company in Malawi must have the following requirements:
• Brief introduction of the applicant (that includes the position held in the company by the applicant).
• Nature of business to be conducted.
• Guarantee of sufficient funds for the travel.
• A letter of invitation written on the company’s letterhead should also be provided. The letter should state the duration and purpose of your visit.
• If the travel expenses of applicants would be taken care of by the company in Malawi, it should be stated in the letter provided by the company.
• A letter from your current employer indicating your employment status and position held in the company is needed too. This letter should also state the purpose of your visit to Malawi.
• A certificate of business registration of the company in Malawi should be submitted with other documents.
• International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever is required.

Two (2) pieces each weighing 8 kgs is acceptable for business class travelers free of charge while one (1) piece with a maximum weight of 7kgs is acceptable for travelers in economy class.

Travellers can extend their visit for more than 90 days if they obtain a residence permit that is valid for six months from the date of entry.
