Basic Travel Requirements for Mozambicans visiting Norway

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Norwegian Visa.

  • A Mozambican passport valid for at least 3 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
  • Duly completed and signed visa application form.
  • If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
  • passport-sized photographs (35mm x 45mm) taken against a light background.
  • Travel document.
  • Proof of sufficient financial means during the intended period of stay.
  • Proof of civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, ration card if applicable).
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • A copy of your return-ticket reservation.
  • Documentation showing applicant’s ties to the home country, e.g. verification from applicant’s employer.
  • Medical Insurance to cover the duration of the entire stay. 
  • A cover letter stating the purpose of visit to Norway and itinerary.
  • Travel Insurance confirmation of minimum  €30,000 coverage within Norway and the entire Schengen area.

Norway Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Norway is part of the Schengen Area which is made up of 26 European countries, so a Schengen visa is required for Mozambicans visiting Norway for vacations, tourism and relaxation purposes.
  • Applicants of this visa can also visit family and friends resident in Norway. 
  • The following documents are also required:
    • Your original passport and copies of your previous visas.
    • Proof of travel insurance to cover you for the Schengen area.
    • Cover letter stating the purpose of your visit and itinerary that includes your activities, flight dates and times, entry and exit out of Portugal.
    • Bank statements for the last three months.
  • Mozambicans are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment in the country.
  • They are also not allowed to seek public funds while in Norway.

Norway Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa enables Mozambicans to visit Norway to engage in business activities.
  • While you are in the country with this visa, you can meet up with business partners for meetings and to negotiate and sign contracts.
  • You can also attend trade fairs, conferences, and business summits while you are in the country.
  • An invitation letter from the company you will be visiting in Norway should be provided. The address of the company and the dates of your visit should be stated in the letter.
  • If the company you are meeting in Norway will be responsible for your expenses while in the country, it should be stated in the letter.
  • If there were previous trade relations between the two companies, proof of such events must be provided.
  • Business bank statement of the latest 6 months.
  • A letter is required from your employer in Mozambique stating awareness and allowance of your business travel for the duration of your time in the country.
  • A certificate of business registration of your business partner in Norway is required.
  • You cannot be gainfully employed while you are in the country with this visa.
  • Mozambicans are expected to exit the country at the expiry of their visa.

Norway Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Medical visa allows Mozambicans to visit Norway for medical treatment.
  • Medical diagnosis is required from your local doctor and It should be accompanied by a document stating why the ailment is best treated in Norway.
  • If you are planning to stay in Norway for more than 90 days, you can ask for a certificate from your local council office. The certificate allows you to access Norwegian public healthcare.
  • A medical attestation from the hospital or doctor in Norway, confirming the date of your appointment as well as your medical situation.
  • You are also required to provide proof of international health insurance when applying for your visa. The insurance must have a minimum coverage of  30,000EUR. It must also have an emergency medical evacuation and repatriation benefit.
  • If you are employed, a letter from your employer is required. Your employer should state in the letter that he is aware of your leave. Your position and how long you have been employed in the company should be clearly stated.
  •  Proof of payment of medical fees should be provided as well as medical insurance to cover the entire stay should be provided.
  • Minors must ensure that they possess the original copy of their birth certificate. If they are traveling alone or with one of their parents, a document of consent which is signed by both parents of the minor should also be provided.
