Documents Burmese applicants need to provide.
- A valid Myanmar passport with at least 6 months validity beyond the date you plan to leave Hong Kong.
- Fully completed and signed visa application form.
- 1 passport-size photograph taken with a white background.
- Letter of invitation.
- Photocopy of your passport's bio-data page.
- Proof of financial means. Evidence that you have enough money to support yourself financially throughout your stay in the country.
- A return flight ticket.
- Travel itinerary.
- Proof of paid visa fee.
- Police record showing no criminal record.
Visa type details
Tourist visa
- The Hongkong tourist visa is available to Myanmars traveling to the country for tourism purposes.
- This visa is valid for a period of 7 to 180 days.
- Persons with the "right of abode" or the "right to land" may enter Hong Kong without holding any visa and without having any condition of stay imposed upon them, and may not be subject to a removal order.
- Applicants are required to provide invitation letters from the host they are visiting in Hongkong.
- Applicants are required to provide proof that they can cater for their financial needs for the entire duration of stay in Hong Kong by sending copies of their bank account statements from the last six months.
- Submission of a sponsorship letter if someone else intends to sponsor your trip along with copies of your sponsor's bank statements is required.
- If you are employed, you should provide proof of your employment by submitting a copy of your employment letter signed by you and your employer stating your role in the company and your salary. You should also provide a leave letter from your employer.
- Hong Kong has a low crime rate. Even so, you should exercise caution when in congested areas and pay particular attention to personal belongings while in crowded areas and while traveling on public transportation.
- Weapons such as mace, pepper spray, stun guns, bullets and other self-protection weapons are banned in Hong Kong.
- Police have the right to take you in for questioning if you are not carrying your passport.
- You are required to have a permit to bring dogs and cats into Hong Kong.
Business visa
- The Hong Kong business visa is issued to Myanmars who intend to travel to Hong Kong for business purposes.
- The Hong Kong business visa allows its holder to:
- Conclude contracts.
- Submit tenders.
- Examine or supervise the installation/packaging of goods or equipment.
- Participate in exhibition or trade fairs.
- With the Hong Kong business visa, you may attend short-term business summits or other business meetings.
- A visa application form must be fully completed and signed before submission.
- If you are employed, you mustprovide proof of your employment (employment contract, bank account statements of the last six months, Income Tax Return).
- You must also provide a leave letter excusing you from work for the entire duration you intend to stay in Hong Kong.
- You are also required to obtain a letter of invitation from the partner company/organisation in Hong Kong. This letter must state the purpose of your visit and who will take care of all your expenses (your company or the partner company) while in Hong Kong.
- If there exist previous trade relations between your company and the partner company in Hong Kong, you should provide proof of this.
Transit visa
- Myanmars who intend to transit through Hong Kong require a transit visa.
- The transit visa is valid for 7 days.
- Applicants are required to fully complete a visa application form.
- A Myanmar passport must be valid with a minimum of 1-month validity and at least two unused visa pages must be provided.
- Applicants are required to submit a copy of an onward ticket to their destination from Hong Kong.
- A copy of your flight itinerary must also be submitted.
- You are required to complete the immigration card on arrival in Hong Kong.
- You must provide proof of your sufficient funds for your stay in Hong Kong.
- The transit visa does not permit its holder to take up paid or unpaid employment while in Hong Kong.
- You are required to provide a police record showing no criminal record. If you have a pending police case, you may not be granted entry into Hong Kong.
- You must also provide proof of payment of the visa fee.
