Application requirements
Documents Namibian applicants need to provide.
- Visa application form filled out in detail(block letters) and signed by the applicant.
- Visa applications for minors must be completely filled and signed by both parents or legal guardians.
- The original applicant's passport should be signed and valid for 6 months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria.
- The passport must contain at least 2 blank pages for visa purposes and must have been issued within the last 10 years.
- Visa application form filled out in detail(block letters) and signed by the applicant.
- Applicants are required to provide a copy of the round trip tickets or confirmed itinerary.
- Passport photograph 35 cm х 45 cm against light-colored background.
- Proof of the purpose of the applicant travel such as an invitation from a friend or business partner is required.
- Medical insurance valid for the whole period of stay in Bulgaria, covering all costs for repatriation and for urgent medical care and emergency hospital treatment for the period of the stay indicated in the visa.
- Proof of financial means by submitting copy of the original bank statement.
- A copy of confirmed hotel booking as proof of accommodation for the whole duration of stay in Bulgaria.
- Criminal report from the local police department in Namibia stating that the applicant has not been engaged in any criminal activity.
- For under-aged children travelling without their parents, a copy of their birth certificate and a signed consent note fro both parents is required.
- Visa application forms are submitted not earlier than 3 months before the date of the intended travel, personally.
Visa type details
Tourist visa
- Filled out and signed Bulgaria tourist visa application.
- Original, signed Namibian passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity.
- 1 Include a passport photo, with a white background, taken within the last 6 months.
- The applicant must provide photocopies of the original passport and ID card, including a copy of all visas (valid and expired).
- Copy of round trip tickets or confirmed itinerary.
- Medical travel insurance with a minimum coverage of € 30,000 and must be valid for the whole duration of stay in Bulgaria.
- Copy of a recent bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds (at least $60 per day).
- Copy of confirmed hotel reservations.
- If the applicant will be visiting friends or family, letter of invitation with the contact information of the host and visitor, purpose and duration of the visit, confirmation of accommodation including the address, signature and date is required.
- You will also need to provide proof of the host's status in Bulgaria ie. copy of their Bulgaria passport's information page, or, if they are not a citizen of Bulgaria, copies of their Bulgaria residence permit and their national passport's information pages.
- If the applicant will be receiving financial support from a host or other sponsor in Bulgaria, please provide a copy of that individual's bank statement.
- Please note that the invitation letter from the host should specifically state the types of support they will be providing (financial and accommodations).
Business visa
- Completely filled and signed business visa application form is required.
- The original applicant's passport should be signed and valid for 6 months after the date of exit from Bulgaria.
- Applicants are required to submit 1 recent passport photograph taken with the last 6 months.
- Applicants are required to provide photocopies of the passport and ID card.
- Visa application form filled out in detail(block letters) and signed by the applicant.
- Applicants are required to provide a copy of the round trip tickets or confirmed itinerary.
- Applicants are required to provide valid medical travel insurance for the whole duration of stay in Bulgaria.
- A copy of the applicant’s recent bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds (at least $60 per day) is required.
- A letter from the applicant’s employer (on business letterhead, with contact details), stating that a leave of absence has been granted and that the applicant will be returning to your current job.
- If the applicant is self-employed, a copy of the business license and tax return.
- If the applicant is retired, proof of retirement fund is required.
- Applicants are required to provide a copy of confirmed hotel reservations as evidence of accommodation in Bulgaria.
- Original business letter from the host company in Bulgaria explaining the purpose of the trip, dates of travel and guaranteeing sufficient funds.
- A business invitation letter from the sponsoring company in Bulgaria.
- The letter should be printed on company letterhead stationery, addressed to the Consulate of Bulgaria, and signed by a senior manager.
- The business letter must briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant) and state the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Bulgaria.
Student visa
- The Bulgarian student visa is issued to foreigners traveling to Bulgaria to study in any approved educational institute in Bulgaria.
- Acceptance letter (certificate stating that the applicant is admitted as a student in Bulgarian university).
- Certificate from the University stating that the applicant will be accommodated in the student hostel.
- Medical insurance valid for the whole period of the trip, covering all costs for repatriation and for urgent medical care and emergency hospital treatment for the period of the stay indicated in the visa.
- Bank document issued on the name of the applicant to prove that tuition fee has been paid (in generally for half of the annual tuition fee).
- Passport photograph 3,5 cm х 4,5 cm against a white background is required.
- Tickets (original and copy) or ticket booking confirmation
- Bank statement of the last 6 months showing proof of sufficient financial means through the stay in Bulgaria.
- For under-aged children travelling without their parents a copy of the birth certificate, original and photocopy of a power of attorney notary certified by both parents/ trustees or by one parent trustee that they agree their child travel unaccompanied by them.
