Basic Travel Requirements for Namibians visiting China
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Chinese Visa.
- Your original passport with at least six months of validity and two blank pages.
- A black and white photocopy of the passport page with your photo, and pages that contain any previous Chinese Visas that you have obtained.
- A recently-taken color passport photo (48mm x 33mm) with light background.
- A photocopy of previous Chinese passports, this is only applicable to those who have been to China before.
- Proof of legal status in the country where you are applying for the Visa, such as a resident permit (only applicable if you are applying for the Visa outside your country of citizenship).
- An Application Form completely filled in, printed and signed.
- The Declaration printed and signed.
- A printed copy of the appointment receipt.
- An invitation letter issued by a relevant entity or individual in China.
- Documentation showing applicant’s ties to the home country.
- A police report showing the traveller does not have a criminal record.
- Medical insurance that covers the entire duration of stay.
- Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.
- Copy of travel itinerary.

China,
officially the People's Republic of China is a country in East Asia
and the world's most populous country, with a population of around
1.404 billion in 2017. Covering approximately 9,600,000 square
kilometres, it is the third or fourth-largest country by total
area. China’s
political system was based on hereditary Monarchies or dynasties
beginning with the semi-mythical Xia dynasty in 21st Century BCE.
China as a whole was ravaged by feudal warlordism with Japan during World War II. The Chinese civil war resulted in a division of territory in 1949 when the communist party of China led by Mao Zedong established the people’s republic of China on mainland China. Also the Kuomintang led nationalist government retreated to the Island of Taiwan where it governed until 1996 when Taiwan changed to democracy.
China’s economy has been one of the world’s fastest-growing with its annual growth rates consistently above 6 per cent. According to the World bank China’s GDP grew from $150 billion in 1978 to $12.24 trillion in 2017. In 2018, its GDP increased to $13.5 trillion (90 trillion yuan). Since 2010, China has been the country with the world’s second-largest economy by nominal GDP and the largest economy in the world by purchasing power parity in 2014.
China is also the world’s largest exporter and second-largest importer of goods and also the home to some of the world’s largest tech giants such as Huawei, Baidu, Tencent and Alibaba as it is the world’s most technologically advanced nation. Since 2019, China has the highest number of rich people in the world.

General Requirements for China Visa

China Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Applicant's original passport valid up to at least six months with at least one blank page.
- Application Form
- One accurately and truthfully completed China Student Visa Application Form.
- Recent Photo
- Affix one recent passport-style colour photo with a full face, front view, no hat, and against a plain light background onto the application form.
- Admission Notice.
- Original and a copy of Admission Notice from the Chinese university or school.
- JW201 or JW202 Form - for X1 application only.
- Original and a copy of approved Foreign Student Visa Application Form JW201 or JW202.
- An original and photocopy of the applicant’s business registration certificate and tax clearance are required for the application process.
- Holders of an M-visa are not allowed to work in China. Foreigners who want to work in China are to apply for a work visa
China Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Your passport with at least 6 months remaining validity, available blank pages, and a photocopy of passport's data page.
- One accurately completed China Tourist Visa Application Form. Please fill in every column of the application form, using "N/A" if not applicable. If the application form is not filled out truthfully, completely and legibly, there could be a delay in processing or refusal of the application
- A recent passport-size colour photo with white background attached to the application form.
- Overstaying in china is prohibited
- Documents showing the itinerary including proof of round trip tickets booking and proof of hotel reservation.
- If you are being invited to China, you can submit an invitation letter issued by the host, whether an entity or individual, with the following information.
- Information on the applicant, including full name, gender, and date of birth.
- It takes about 4 working days to process a Chinese tourist visa.
- Information on the planned visit, including arrival and departure dates, places of visit.
- Information on the host, including name, contact number, address, official stamp, and signature of the legal representative of the entity or the inviting individual.
- Employed visitors are to provide an employment letter that confirms their employment in their home country.
- When travelling with an organized tour group, you won’t be issued an individual visa. Instead, a group tour visa would be issued to you which will contain the names of the members of the group.
China Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- A completed typewritten application form with a recently-taken colour photo glued to or stapled on it.
- China business visa or trade visa is issued to foreigners coming for commercial and trade activities, such as attending trade fairs, visiting clients and factories, negotiating with clients, and signing contracts.
- China business visa is also called M visa for short.
- The validity period of China M visa is three months in most cases, while the allowed duration of stay is usually 30 days.
- Proof of legal stay or residence if you are applying from a third country.
- China Business Visa Invitation Letter.
- According to China M visa rules, one of the following is required:
- Invitation letter issued by a Chinese business or trade partner.
- Invitation letter or confirmation letter of invitation issued by duly authorized Chinese institutes or relevant units.
- Invitation letter of a trade fair.
