Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Bruneian Visa.

Brunei is a tiny nation in Asia popular for its beaches and biodiverse rainforest. The beaches allow tourists to perform activities like water sports and scuba diving. Ulu Temburong National Park affords tourists access to the culture and wildlife in Brunei. The capital, Bandar Seri Begawan is home to Jame’Asr Hassanil Bolkiah mosque and its 29 golden domes.
 
Brunei recorded a record number of tourist arrivals in 2017. The number of foreigners who visited the country was 258,955, this was the highest number since 2011. This follows from an 18% increase from the number of tourists who visited the country in 2016.
 
Brunei is an Islamic country and indecent dressing is frowned at especially during the period of Ramadan. Fines and prison sentences are handed out to people who are found to be involved in adultery. Consuming food, drink or tobacco during the fasting hours of Ramadan will land you in hot water with the authorities.
 
All European Union citizens, United States, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein can visit Brunei without a visa for up to 90 days. Citizens of Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, Oman, Singapore, South Korea, Turkey, Ukraine, and UAE can visit Brunei without a visa for a period of 30 days. Nationals of Cambodia, Japan, Canada, Russia, and Costa Rica can visit the country without a visa for up to 14 days.

Brunei Darussalam Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is the type of visa issued to persons who intend to visit Brunei for tourism purposes.
  • You can also visit family and friends while on this visa.
  • All visitors to Brunei must carry a valid passport.
  •  Visa applicants intending to visit a friend or family need to submit an invitation letter from a family member or host living in Brunei.
  • This letter should clearly state the address and contact details of the host, as well as your relationship with them.
  •  During the visa application, you will need to provide proof of sufficient funds to last the duration of your stay.
  • You are advised to exit the country before your visa expires and present documents that show you have the intention to do so.
  • This visa does not serve study purposes. You cannot be enrolled in any of the institutions of learning in the country.

Brunei Darussalam Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is the type of visa issued to Nigerians traveling to Brunei for business.
  • You will need to provide an invitation letter from the Bruneian company you will be visiting.
  • This letter will also contain their detailed address, accompanied with the date and actual purpose of your trip.
  • If the intention is to attend a meeting or seminar, confirmation/invitation from the conference organizer/institution is required.
  • Pre-registration is recommended for business travelers who will be attending conferences in the country. Proof of this registration is required.
  • If you are employed, you will have to present a certificate from your employer stating or allowing your business travel.
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months) is required.
  • Self-employed people may need to submit proof of business registration.
  • You cannot be gainfully employed while you are in the country with this visa.
  • It must be made clear whether your trip will be sponsored by the employer or the local company.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee should be submitted.
