Basic Travel Requirements for Nigerians visiting Czech Republic

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Czech Visa.

  • Passport with a validity of more than 6 months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have at least two blank pages for the necessary stamp.
  • Completed Schengen visa application form which is dated and has been signed by the applicant. There is no fee collected from applicant’s for the visa application form.
  • One recent passport-sized photographs with a white background. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application. The photo should be glued and not staple to the visa application form.
  • Original copy of bank statement from the past three months prior to the period of visa application. Pay slips from the previous three months can also be presented.
  • Travel insurance which has sufficient medical coverage. The insurance should be valid for the duration of your stay in the country.
  • Proof of civil status.
  • Proof of accommodation for the period you will be staying in the country. A document proving ownership, lease, or an approval written and signed by the owner of the apartment for the applicant to use the apartment should be provided. Students can have their accommodation verified by their institution, by sending a confirmation of the accommodation directly to the Embassy.
  • Copy of return flight ticket.

 Passport holders of the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States of America do not require a visa for a period of up to 90 days.

Tourists crossing the road or tram tracks within 50 meters from the designated crossing area will be fined.

Czech Republic Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreign nationals traveling to the Czech Republic for the purpose of sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation. This visa can be issued as a single-entry visa, double-entry visa, or a multiple-entry visa. The Tourist Visa can also be used as an airport transit visa.
  • Nigerians who have the intention of visiting a friend or relative in the Czech Republic are eligible to apply for this visa.
  • A written and signed invitation letter from your host in the Czech Republic is required. The letter must be verified by the Czech Alien Police Inspectorate.
  • You are required to provide proof of the relationship between you and your host in the Czech Republic.
  • Applicants of this visa should be able to provide proof of being able to afford a minimum of 1100 CZK every day of their stay in the country if the total duration of their visit is not more than 30 days. If their stay in the Czech Republic is going to be for more than 30 days, they should be able to afford 33000 CZK. 
  • Non-Nigerians residing in Nigeria are required to present a copy of their Nigerian residence permit.
  • Minors traveling with one or none of their parents are required to present a letter of consent signed by both their parents. A copy of your birth certificate should be provided. Minors are also required to be in possession of a copy of both parents ID card or passport
  • If you are employed, a letter of employment from your employer should be provided. The letter must state your job position, salary level, length of employment, and duration of your leave. The name and contact information of the person authorized to sign the letter should also be clearly stated in the letter.
  • Proof of commercial activities in Nigeria or abroad should be provided.
  • Receipt of payment of visa application is required. The Nigerian naira is the only accepted means of payment received by the embassy.  

Czech Republic Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreigners who are traveling to the Czech Republic with the intention of engaging in business activities.
  • Foreigners who will be taking part in conferences, trade fairs, and business seminars can also apply for this visa.
  • If you will be participating in a trade fair, conference, or business seminar, you are required to provide an invitation letter from the company or an authorized body to attend the specific event. You are expected to provide proof of registration and entry tickets for such events.
  • An invitation letter from the company based in the Czech Republic you will be meeting with is required. The letter should introduce the applicant and also state the duration and purpose of the business visit.
  • A letter from your employer in Nigeria confirming the allowance of your business leave should be provided.
  • You are required to provide proof of your company’s commercial activities in Nigeria and recent business contacts. Proof of commercial activities between the inviting and sending company and other documents showing the presence of trade relations is required. 
  • Non-Nigerians are required to present a copy of their Nigerian residence permit.

Czech Republic Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Applicants of this visa are foreign nationals who have the intention of staying and receiving medical treatment in the Czech Republic.
  • Non-Nigerians should ensure they are in possession of a copy of their Nigerian residence permit.
  • Minors traveling alone or with one of their parents are required to be in possession a letter of consent signed by both their parents, as well as a copy of their birth certificate.
  • A certificate from the applicant’s physician or medical institution in Nigeria confirming the need for the specific treatment to be provided in the Czech Republic should be provided.
  • An official letter from the receiving medical institution in the Czech Republic confirming that it can perform the medical treatment needed by the applicant is required.
  • You are required to provide proof of pre-payment of the medical fee and proof of sufficient means to cover all other related expenses.
  • Any other correspondence between the sending and receiving medical institutions should be provided.
  • You are expected to leave the country as soon as this visa expires.

Czech Republic Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of studying at a university or higher education school in the Czech Republic for more than three months.
  • Foreigners who intend to study at a high school or conservatory in an exchange program, language course, and internships are eligible to apply for this visa.
  • Minors applying for this visa should ensure they are in possession of a letter of consent signed by both their parents. This document has to be in the Czech language or it should be in English language and must be accompanied by the official translation to the Czech language.
  • The original letter of admission issued by the institution you have been accepted into should be provided, copies are not accepted. This document should be in the Czech language and must have been issued within the last 180 days.
  • Proof that the applicant has sufficient funds to pay their tuition fee and any other extra fee that may arise while in the country is required.
  • Applicants are required to provide a medical report from a medical institution in Nigeria stating that the applicant does not suffer syphilis, tuberculosis, and any other contagious disease. This document must be translated into the Czech language and must be issued within the last 6 months.
  • An original criminal record certificate gotten from Nigeria is required. This certificate should be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria and superlegalized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic.
  • Applicants of this visa type are required to provide the original copy of certificates gotten from schools that they previously. This may include submitting original WAEC/NECO Certificate and WAEC/NECO scratch card.
  • A document proving that payment of the tuition fee has been made is required.

Czech Republic Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreigners who have been offered employment by an employer in the Czech Republic.
  • An employment contract signed by both the employer and the employee should be provided. The letter should state the applicant’s job position and length of the employment contract.
  • Proof that there was no citizen of the Czech Republic qualified to take up the job you have been offered is required.
  • All applicants of this visa type are required to submit a copy of their Curriculum Vitae.
  • You must be willing to leave the country on or before the expiry of your visa. Failure to do so will result in you being arrested and prosecuted.
  • A medical certificate from a medical institution in Nigeria stating that the applicant is free of any contagious disease should be provided. The document should be in the Czech language and must have been issued within the last 6 months.
  • A criminal record certificate issued by the Nigerian police and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria should be provided. If you ever stayed in another country which is not a country of residence for more than 6 months in the last 3 years, you have to present a criminal record from that country.
