Basic Travel Requirements for Nigerians visiting Pakistan

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Pakistani Visa.

  • A Nigerian passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
  • Duly completed and signed visa application form.
  • If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
  • Passport-size photographs (2 x 2” in dimension) taken in white background.
  • Travel document.
  • Proof of financial support
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Copy of return flight ticket
  • Documentation showing applicant’s ties to home country, e.g. verification from applicant’s employer.
  • A police report showing the traveler does not have a criminal record.
  • Medical Insurance.
  • Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.
  • Copy of travel itinerary.

The tourism industry Pakistan is a growing economy and has been regarded as the next big thing for years to come. In 2016, there were 965,498 foreign visitors in Pakistan and this amounted to 7.6 billion dollars in foreign revenue. The government expects the tourism industry to generate as much as $9.5 billion by 2025.
 
All tourists are required to cover their arms and legs while in public places at all times. Illegal drugs are strongly prohibited, lengthy prison sentences are handed out to people caught with these drugs. The punishment for people involved in murder, blasphemy, rape and unlawful assembly is death.

Pakistan Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • A Tourist Visa allows the citizens of Nigeria to visit Pakistan for tourism purposes.
  • Citizens of certain countries can get visa on arrival to enter Pakistan; Nigeria is not among these countries.  
  • You can visit relatives and friends with this visa during your time in the country.
  • If you will be staying with family or friend, an invitation letter from your host in Pakistan is required.
  • The home address and telephone number of the host should be included in the letter, as well as a valid means of identification.
  • You cannot study or work on a tourist visa.
  • Children should have the original copy of their birth certificate.
  • Receipt of your paid visa application fees should be presented during the visa application process.
  • You are requested to exit the country once your visa expires.
  • In a nutshell, this is what you need to process your Pakistani tourist visa:
    1. A valid passport.
    2. Passport-style photos, taken in international visa standards.
    3. Hotel confirmation.
    4. Proof of entry/exit arrangements (flight tickets).
    5. Copy of host's ID card or hotel booking.
    6. Properly completed Pakistan visa application form.
    7. Money order.
  • Visas can be extended in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad, but many say the visa office in Lahore is the easiest place to get an extension.
  • Applicants are advised to prepare for the risks they will face in Pakistan.
  • Pakistan does not require proof of any vaccinations to enter the country. However, if you have spent more than four weeks in the country, you must have proof of having received the polio vaccine or a booster within the past year.

Pakistan Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to Nigerians traveling to Pakistan for business purposes.
  • Travelers are free to attend business meetings and conferences while on this visa.
  • To be issued this visa, you will need an invitation letter from a company in Pakistan or a recommendation from the Chamber of Commerce of your own country.
  • Holders of this visa cannot get paid for any of the services they render while in the country.
  • You cannot take up any course of learning or be enrolled in any of the schools in the country with this visa.
  • Your current employer should give you a certificate confirming that he/she is aware of your business travel.
  • This letter should be presented at the embassy or consulate while applying for your visa.
  • You must not overstay on this visa.
  • Overstaying is an offense and carries serious consequences.
  • Pakistan business visa for Nigerians is valid for up to 90 days.
  • The visa cost for a Pakistani visa for Nigerians is $68.
  • The Embassies/High Commissions for Pakistan deal with visa matters on all the working days of the week (Monday to Friday).
  • Please fill in the visa Application Form in CAPITAL LETTERS only (four copies). No column must be left blank.
  • Two copies of the form will be returned to the applicant with visa.
  • One each should be handed over to Pakistan Immigration Officer on arrival and Police Registration Office.
  • The applicant should be in possession of US $45 or equivalent in Foreign Exchange at the time of entry. 
  • The visitors may enter Pakistan by air, train or road, but the point of exit and mode of travel for their return journey will remain the same.
  • Persons entering by air may exit from different airport with prior permission. 
  • The visitors must report for police registration within 24 hours of entry in Pakistan and prior to departure/arrival at each subsequent place of visit in Pakistan.
