Basic Travel Requirements for Filipinos visiting Germany
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a German Visa.
- A completed and signed visa application form.
- Two passport photos taken on a white background.
- Copies of your passport and previous visas are required.
- A copy of your return ticket reservation.
- Travel medical visa insurance with a minimum of 30,000 euro coverage within Germany and the entire Schengen area.
- A cover letter stating your purpose to Germany.
- Proof of accommodation for the whole duration of the trip.
- Proof of civil status(marriage certificate, birth certificate of your children or death certificate of your spouse).
- Means of subsistence for the duration of stay.
- Employment contract.
- Bank statement of 6 months showing salary received from employer and income tax return(ITR) form.
- Business license for self-employed applicants.
- A letter of agreement from your school and proof of enrollment.
- Pension statement of at least 6 months if applicable.
- The visa fee is 60 Euro. For children between age 6 and 12, the visa fee is 35 Euro and is free for children ages 0 - 6

Germany Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This business visa is for applicants who wish to transact business, attend seminars, conferences, workshops, business meetings, and have negotiations while in Germany.
- This visa is valid for 90 days.
- An invitation letter from the German company you will be visiting and their detailed address accompanied with the dates of your visit is to be submitted.
- A certificate from your employer stating/allowing your business travel is also required.
- If there were previous trade relations between the two companies, proof of such events must be provided.
- A business bank statement for the latest 6 months is necessary.
- Memorandum and Article of Association in original certified copy (registered with joint-stock companies) and Trade License (first issued and present renewal) is to be submitted also.
- A document regarding the applicant’s expenses during their stay in Germany is to be submitted also, either the employer or the partner company must state coverage of expenses on the letter of invitation.
- If you are going for religious or crew/television purposes, you will need to provide an invitation letter from the authorities with details about the nature of events or activities, purpose of visit, expense coverage, the names of the applicants (crew members), duration of their stay, and a detailed travel itinerary.
- You are to leave Germany on or before the expiration of your visa.
Germany Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This student visa is for students who wish to travel to Germany for learning purposes.
- The admission letter from your institution of study is to be submitted.
- You are to submit proof of accommodation for your entire stay in Germany.
- This could be either proof of payment of hostel fees or a family/friends contact who is a resident.
- All documents submitted for this visa application must contain original and 2 clear photocopies for application.
- Documentation showing that you have been accepted into an institution in Germany is to be submitted.
- You will also need to show proof that you satisfy the conditions for access to studying in Germany. This could be academic results or previously obtained learning certificates.
- Applicants are to provide proof of travel insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 covering any medical emergency for the duration of their stay.
- A medical certificate stating you do not carry any diseases that may endanger public health (such as Tuberculosis and other diseases that require quarantine) is also to be submitted.
- Proof of financial sustenance for the entire stay in Germany is needed. This could be a valid scholarship offer, recent bank statement from your sponsor or guardian, letter attesting sponsorship and a valid ID of your sponsor.
- Medical certificate issued not more than 6 months to the date of application is also important.
- A certificate of good conduct not more than 6 months to the date of the application is required to show that you have not been convicted of any crimes.
- A letter of authorization signed by both parents and the original birth certificate is to be submitted for minor applicants.
- You can take up employment with this visa type but you are restricted to the number of days you can work.
- This means that you can work 120 full days each year or 240 half days.
- If you take up a student or research assistant at your university, it might not be a problem to exceed the 120-day limit.
- It will be necessary for you to learn the German language seeing that it is the language of instruction at most educational institutions in Germany.
- All students undertaking a German-taught program will need to be able to demonstrate a firm knowledge of the language, either by means of a language test result or by taking a preparatory course.
Germany Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- If you want to apply for this visa, your reason must either be for tourism, family and friends visitation, leisure and relaxation purposes.
- You are to provide an invitation letter from your host with their house address, phone number, office/home number and nature and address of employment all stated in the letter.
- You are to submit your passport which must have a validity of at least six months from the proposed date of travel.
- Copies of previous visas should also be submitted.
- A travel health insurance that covers the applicant's duration of stay should be submitted with at least 30,000 Euros.
- You are to submit a detailed travel itinerary with dates and flight numbers specifying your entry and exit from Germany.
- Proof of hotel reservation or accommodation is to be submitted.
- Proof that you have the incentive of returning to your country at the expiration of your visa is required.
- With this tourist visa, you are not allowed to work while you are in the country.
- A letter confirming your leave from work and your job position is to be submitted.
- You are expected to abide by all the rules guiding your visa.
- You cannot take up a course to study in any of the institutions of learning in the country.
- Proof of payment of visa application fees should be provided during the visa application.
- At the expiry of your visa, you are expected to leave the country.
Germany Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is for persons who wish to transit through Germany to another country.
- You are to provide the visa and flight ticket of your destination country during the visa application process.
- If you are under the age of 18 years, the unabridged original copy of your birth certificate should be provided.
- You must have a clean criminal record.
- Receipt of paid visa application fee is required.
- You are not allowed to study or work during your time in the country.
- The visa is valid for 5 days.
- You are required to exit the country on or before the expiration of your visa.
- There is no extension for the transit visa.
- You are not allowed to leave the airport transit area.
Germany Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is issued to Philipines traveling to work in an organization in Germany.
- Two fully completed work visa application forms. Printed and signed at the end.
- Two passport photographs size (32mm x 36mm).
- Valid national passport must not be older than 10 years and must have three more months of validity on the day you leave Germany.
- Proof of residence. Your driver’s license and/or utility bill in your name as proof of residence in the territory of the consulate where you plan to apply.
- Proof of health insurance. Compulsory certificate from German employer, valid from date of employment. If not already included in the compulsory health insurance separate travel insurance has to be presented for the time frame from arrival in Germany until the beginning of employment.
- An employment contract / binding job offer with details of gross annual salary and a detailed description of the employment in Germany.
- Approval by the Federal Employment Agency (If applicable).
- Curriculum Vitae. Your updated CV, which indicates your academic qualifications and your job experience.
- Proof of Qualification. Diplomas, Certificates, Mark-sheets, etc., or anything similar that proves your qualifications.
- Personal covering letter explaining the exact purpose and duration of stay.
- Proof of a clean criminal record.
- Proof of paid visa fee. The visa fee for a German short stay visa is €60 while for long-stay is €75.
- Proof of sufficient to back up your support in Germany.
- Declaration of Accuracy of Information.
