Basic Travel Requirements for Qataris visiting Belgium

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Belgian Visa.


  • The Belgian application form must be completely filled in, signed by the applicant.
  • The current Qatar address, local contact number, and email address should be provided.
  • For children under 18 years, the application form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. 
  • One recent passport photograph taken within the last  6 months.
  • The original passport should be valid for at least three months after the date of return from Belgium.
  • The passport must have been issued within the last 10 years, must be in good shape and have at least 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
  • The applicant needs to provide a photocopy of the identity page of the passport.
  • Qatar Residence permits are required from applicants who are non-citizens of Qatar.
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of previous Belgian visas with entry and exit stamps from the last 3 years.
  • Bank statements of the last 3 months showing proof of sufficient financial means
  • The bank statements should be stamped and signed by the applicant's bank.
  • Traveler cheques, proof of purchase of foreign currencies, or credit card covering the cost of the stay is the bank statement is not available.
  • Flight ticket reservation is required.
  • Travel insurance certificate with a minimum coverage of € 30,000. showing coverage of the costs of urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment.
  • For minors, letter of consent signed by both parents, copies of the parent’s passports or identity cards where their signature appears is required.
  • For students, a letter from the school or university confirming their status as a student and that their absence is permitted is required.
  • The documents presented must be recent originals, plus one (1) photocopy of each of the documents.
  • Official foreign documents must be legalized or bear an apostille unless a treaty provides for the exemption of the legalization process.
  • If the documents are not in French, Dutch, German or English, the documents must be translated into one of these languages by a certified translator.
