Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Brazilian Visa.

Brazil Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Brazil student visa is issued to persons traveling to Brazil to attend regular courses or participate in exchange or internship programs.
  • Holders of this visa are allowed to take up paid legal employment in Brazil as long as it will not affect their schooling.
  • Applicants are to provide proof of financial sustenance to cover their duration of stay.
  • Applicants are to provide proof of payment of tuition fees.
  • Multiple entries can be issued on this visa.
  • Applicants are to submit proof of health insurance.
  • Non-Qatari citizens applying for this visa are to present a copy of their stay permit.
  • If your study program is less than 90 days, you should apply for the visitor’s visa instead.
  • A letter of acceptance from the academic institution you have been accepted to is to be submitted. 
  • The letter should outline the nature of the study being undertaken in Brazil.
  • A police statement issued within the last three months, certifying the absence of a criminal record should be provided also.
  • Minors are required to present their original birth certificate accompanied by a letter of consent signed by both their parents.
  • A receipt that shows payment of visa application fee has been made is to be also provided.

Brazil Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is for visa applicants traveling to Brazil for tourism, transit, artistic or sporting activities.
  • Applicants are to submit a valid international passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of departure.
  • The passport must contain two consecutive blank pages and must not be torn, separated or altered.
  • All documents and applications submitted by applicants should be written in Portuguese.
  • Payments from Brazilian sources such as reimbursement of travel expenses, cash prizes, may be received by foreigners on the visitor’s visa. 
  • Before receiving payments, you will have to submit comprehensive paperwork related to the visit along with your application documents.
  • The Brazil tourist visa is valid for 90 days.
  • If you wish to exceed the 90 days of stay, you are to report to the Brazilian police at your arrival into Brazil but the extension must not exceed 180 days a year.
  • This visa is usually valid for multiple entries.
  • Applicants are to make available, a copy of their driver's license with address their details as it appears on the application form.
  • Proof of travel insurance of the applicant is to be also submitted.
  • Applicants of this visa can also participate in conferences, seminars, congresses or meetings, voluntary service or research activities, educational or academic extension.
  • For those participating in conferences, seminars, athletic or artistic events, and competitions, you are to provide an invitation letter from the organizers of such events in Brazil.
  • Applicants of this visa can also render professional services during their stay in Brazil.
  • Minor applicants are to submit a copy of their application which must be signed by both parents and a valid ID of the parents.
  • Their original birth certificate is to be provided also.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fees is also required.

Brazil Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa type is for applicants who wish to travel to Brazil for employment purposes.
  • The applicant is to provide proof of the job contract for the visa application process.
  • The Brazillian work visa is categorized into a temporary and permanent work visa.
  • The temporary work visa is usually issued for a period of 2 years.
  • An extension for another two years should be requested for at least 30 days before the expiration of the visa. 
  • After this four-year period, the holder can apply for a permanent work visa. 
  • A holder of this visa can not change employers in Brazil without notifying the Brazilian authorities.
  • The permanent work visa is given to persons who are entitled to a permanent residence in Brazil. Normally this applies to professional researchers or scientists (for activities exceeding a period of two years), investors (provided the investment sum exceeds US$ 50,000 for natural persons or US$ 200,000 for companies) and managers or directors.
  • In order to have a remunerated job in Brazil, Applicants will need both a residence permit (either temporary or permanent) and a work visa (Autorizaçao de Trabalho).
  • All the documents to be approved by the Brazilian authorities have to be translated into Portuguese and certified before submission. 
  • For applicants without an employment contract, proof of a job offer with a Brazilian company is to be submitted.
  • Work visas and permits are usually issued to foreigners whose prospective employer is a registered Brazilian company.
  • The applicant's employer in Brazil is to submit the work contract to Brazil's Ministry of Labor.
  • Note that it is the sole responsibility of the sponsoring institution or company to carry out all the formalities at the Ministry of Labor in Brazil for the work visa process after labor approval.
  • Work visas can only be processed at the Consular Section once a visa approval notice is issued by the Brazilian Ministry of Labor.
  • Applicants of this visa are required to present a Police Certificate issued within the last 3 months, certifying a clear criminal record.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fees is to be provided.
