Basic Travel Requirements for Rwandans visiting Belize

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Belizean Visa.

  • Original passport valid for at least 3 months after arrival in Belize.
  • Recent passport-sized photograph that meets the visa photo specifications.
  • Return or onward ticket.
  • Travel itinerary.
  • Travel insurance.
  • Certificate of good character.
  • Recent medical report.
  • Proof of financial sustenance for the duration of trip.
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Documentation detailing the purpose of trip.
  • Documents showing status in Rwanda either as an employee, business owner or student.
  • BZ$1.50 postage stamp.
  • For minors, the original birth certificate and a notarized letter of authority from their parents is needed.
  • The visa is valid for 30 days and can be extended for another 30 days at $25 monthly up to a year. After a year, you can apply for permanent residency in Belize.
  • You're required to pay an exit tax within the range of $20 to $57.50. This tax might be included in the price of your airfare.
  • There's no Belizean embassy in Rwanda but visa applications can go through the British Embassy in Rwanda.

Belize Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Belizean visitor visa is suitable for Rwandans travelling for various purposes which include tourism, visitation and business.
  • With this visa, you can visit loved ones, meet business partners, attend summits and conferences.
  • An invitation letter is required from the inviting party in Belize. This letter should show full details of the trip including purpose, duration and whoever will be financially responsible during the stay.
  • A valid means of identification of the host should accompany the letter.
  • For business purposes, the invitation letter is to be written on the inviting company's letter head. 
  • You're to provide relevant documents showing the inviting company's registration status in Belize. 
  • Documentation validating previous relations with inviting company in Belize is necessary.
  • A cover letter from your employer in Rwanda stating awareness and allowance of your trip as well as any financial responsibility is required.
  • Proof of funds in the form of recent bank statement to show you can spend at least US$75 daily is needed.
  • Visitors visiting Belize on a cruise ship do not need a visa for entry.
  • This single entry visa costs BZ$100 and allows a stay of 30 days. The visa has a validity of  6 months from issue date but can be extended for another 30 days at BZ$25 monthly up to a year. After a year, you can apply for permanent residency in Belize.
  • The multiple entry visa is valid for a year and it costs BZ$200.
  • The visitor visa is usually processed in 2 weeks.
