Basic Travel Requirements for Rwandans visiting Belize

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Belizean Visa.


  • Original passport valid for at least 3 months after arrival in Belize.
  • Recent passport-sized photograph that meets the visa photo specifications.
  • Return or onward ticket.
  • Travel itinerary.
  • Travel insurance.
  • Certificate of good character.
  • Recent medical report.
  • Proof of financial sustenance for the duration of trip.
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Documentation detailing the purpose of trip.
  • Documents showing status in Rwanda either as an employee, business owner or student.
  • BZ$1.50 postage stamp.
  • For minors, the original birth certificate and a notarized letter of authority from their parents is needed.
  • The visa is valid for 30 days and can be extended for another 30 days at $25 monthly up to a year. After a year, you can apply for permanent residency in Belize.
  • You're required to pay an exit tax within the range of $20 to $57.50. This tax might be included in the price of your airfare.
  • There's no Belizean embassy in Rwanda but visa applications can go through the British Embassy in Rwanda.
