Basic Travel Requirements for Rwandans visiting Egypt

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Egyptian Visa.

  • Passport Photo must be no older than 6 months
  • Original Passport or Travel document with at least 6 months remaining validity on the date of travel and have at least 2 visa pages clear of any markings.
  • Travel itinerary (travel reservation to and from the country/area in your name, not a ticket)
  • Flight reservations(s) for the country of your visit and return ticket
  • Travel itinerary (travel reservation to and from the country/area in your name, not a ticket)
  • If you're employed; a letter from your employer on the company's letterhead, with contact details stating that a leave of absence has been granted, the purpose and duration of the trip, and when you will be returning to your current job.Current bank statement of the latest 6 months, Income Tax Return (ITR) and original pay slips

Egypt is a country which is very rich in history and culture. Egypt is known to have a lot of pyramids with most of them being tombs for the Egyptian pharaohs. The pyramids found at Giza are considered to be the most popular pyramids in Egypt. The largest pyramid is the ‘Pyramid of Khufu’ at Giza, it is the only one of the seven wonders of the world which still exists. Tourists in the country can visit museums to see ancient Egyptian antiquities or take a ride through the safari on a camel’s back or a jeep. Whatever you want to do during your time in Egypt, it definitely is great fun.
 
The tourism industry in Egypt is a leading aspect to the economic growth in Egypt. In 2010, Egypt played host to 14.7 million tourists and contributed more than 11%of the country’s GDP. From then on, the number of tourist visits in the country has been on the rise and it is expected to keep rising for the foreseeable future.
 
Travelers into Egypt are not allowed to enter or leave Egypt with more than $10,000 or its equivalent in any currency. People caught in any homosexual act are subject to 10 years imprisonment. Avoid drinking alcohol in public places, you could be arrested if seen doing so. The Egyptian government is not against the practice of Christianity but trying to convert someone to the Christian faith is illegal.

Egypt Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • You must provide your actual signed passport, including two copies of the personal information page of your passport. With 6 months validity
  • At least one blank visa page (amendments and endorsement pages cannot be used to fulfill this requirement)
  • Your passport must not be frayed, torn, separated, or altered in any other way.
  • You must provide two colored passport-type photographs that must have been taken within the last three months and printed on high-quality photo paper.
  • The photographs must be taken against an all white background and must be two inches by two (2x2) inches providing the full frontal view of your head with your face centered in the middle and displaying a neutral (non-smiling) expression.  You may wear neither eyeglasses nor head-wear except for religious purposes. Your photos must not be affixed to your application and it may not display evidence of adhesive tape or staples
  • You are required to provide a Business Cover Letter from your Egyptian based company. All letters must be printed on company letterhead that displays an Egyptian address. When printing your Business Cover Letter,  provide 2 copies of the business cover letter and proof of Travel Arrangements
  • Include two copies of an itinerary or e-ticket that displays your round trip travel and entry and exit dates for your destination showing the traveler's full name (as printed in his or her passport)

Egypt Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Visa exempt for a stay of up to 12 hours.
  • Travelers should hold a passport valid for at least six months on entry with one blank visa page
  • You are expected to show proof of sufficient funds
  • Hold proof of onward/return flights
  • Travelers should possess all documents required for the next destination
  • Hold visa for next country where applicable
  • Confirm with their airline that boarding will be permitted without a visa as these conditions are subject to change
  • Leaving the airport transit area is not permitted.
