Basic Travel Requirements for Rwandans visiting Greenland
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Greenlandic Visa.
- Visa application form
- Original signed Rwanda passport that has at least 6 months remaining validity on the date of travel
- Include a passport-style photo, with a white background, taken within the last 6 months. You may also choose to upload a photo to your order for us to print. There is a surcharge associated with this service.
- Copy of itinerary showing exact dates of travel from airline or travel agent. Please note that the number of entries on your visa will be based upon your itinerary.
- An original letter from your employer/school (on business letterhead, with contact details), stating that a leave of absence has been granted and that you will be returning to your current job. The Employment Letter must be addressed to the Greenland High Commission.
- If you are self-employed, include a copy of your business license and tax return. If you are retired please submit proof of your retirement fund.
- Copy of confirmed hotel reservations including the name of the applicant, name, and address of the hotel, duration of stay.
- Original or copy of bank statements for 3 months. They need to include the full address and name of the applicant, bank transactions and salary. The final balance needs to be of at least £500 plus it needs to show sufficient funds to pay the cost of the accommodation if not paid yet at the time of submission of the application.
- Travel insurance (all-risk medical travel insurance); clearly showing the applicant’s name, has to be valid throughout the complete territory of the Schengen Area and must cover the entire period of the applicant’s intended stay in Greenland. The minimum coverage for medical emergency and repatriation (in case of death clause included) must be €30,000
- All ORIGINAL documents have to be presented together with a PHOTOCOPY. The Embassy will not return original documents if photocopies are not supplied.
- All supporting documents must not be older than 1 month unless otherwise specified above.

Greenland is an autonomous region of the Kingdom of Denmark, located between the Arctic and Atlantic oceans, east of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Though physio-graphically a part of the continent of North America, Greenland has been politically and culturally associated with Europe for more than a millennium. Greenland Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Bank statement, of preferably, the last 6 months
- In case one does not have a bank account or does not own enough funds to take care of their expenses during this travel, the visiting friends or relatives have to sign an “official affidavit of support” at the corresponding office in his/her place of residence. Make sure you carry the original document when applying for the visa.
- Travel Itinerary, the purpose of traveling, the time frame and all the personal date written down in a letter, as well as hotel reservation or a formal invitation letter from a resident
