Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a New Zealander Visa.

New Zealand Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Applicants of this visa type must be between 18 and 30 years of age
- You must be a Rwandan passport holding citizen
- Provide a proof you will leave New Zealand once your visa expires
- You are not allowed to take children along with you. Until you have worked for at least 2 years and have the means to cater for that child
- You must be of good health, and good character (no criminal convictions)
- You must obtain a thorough medical insurance for the length of your stay
- You must not have been granted a New Zealand Working Holiday Visa before
- A letter from the company in New Zealand which should contain the company’s address, your full job description as well as proof that you will not be paid below the minimum wage stipulated by New Zealand.
- Your employer should also provide proof that there was no New Zealand citizen available for the job you were offered.
New Zealand Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- What you can bring into New Zealand
- After you’ve cleared passport control, you should collect your baggage and proceed through customs and bio-security checks. In order to protect New Zealand and its environment, certain items are not allowed to be brought into the country, have restrictions for entry or must be declared if they are deemed to present a bio-security risk. These include food, plants, animal products and outdoor recreational equipment.
- Your baggage may be sniffed by a detector dog and/or x-rayed, and it may be searched to identify any risk goods you might be carrying.
- To avoid penalties it is best to familiarize yourself with these guidelines prior to travel.
- Passenger Arrival Cards – these are usually given to you to complete by your crew on your way to New Zealand. The cards tell you what we consider are 'risk goods'
- declaring all risk items on your card – goods like food, plants, wooden products, soil, water, outdoor equipment, and animal products. Declared risk goods may then be inspected
- disposing of undeclared risk goods in marked amnesty bins on your arrival
- prohibited and restricted items like products from endangered animal or plant species
- infringement fees, fines and penalties for not declaring risk items on your Passenger Arrival Card.
- Passport must be valid for at least three months beyond the applicant's departure date from New Zealand.
- The passport-sized photographs used for the visa application must meet the following guidelines:
- 35mm x 45mm in size
- Must be in color
- Must be recent (not later than 6 months)
- The background color should be a light color, although white is not acceptable.
- Do not wear the same top as the color of the background.
- A letter of invitation from your host in New Zealand is required with their home address, telephone number, and a copy of a valid means of identification
- Tourist travelers to New Zealand are not allowed to study full-time in the country.They are only allowed to study for a period of not more than three months.
- The visa is renewable. You can apply for a multiple-entry visa.
- A letter from your employer confirming awareness and permission of your leave is required. The letter should include your job position, the company’s address, how long you have been employed, and the duration of your leave.
- If below the age, of 18 years, the original copy of your birth certificate should be provided. If minors are traveling without their parents or with one of their parents, a letter of consent signed by both parents should be provided.
- You should state that you have the incentive of returning to your home country once your visa expires. New Zealand authorities takes this regulation seriously because of the rate of illegal immigrants in the country.
- Proof of Sustenance with a minimum of 4200 NZD
- Proof of good character must be provided usually in the form of a police clearance
- If you have a criminal record, this Visa may be hard for or almost out of your reach
New Zealand Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- With this visa, you are allowed to study full-time in any institution of their choice in New Zealand.
- This visa is for persons who have been granted admission into an institution in New Zealand
- An admission letter from the institution you have been accepted into must be provided. The letter should state the course title, duration and if possible all the study fees applicable.
- Students are to provide certificates and transcripts of the previous schools they attended.
- To study in New Zealand, You must take and pass an English language proficiency test (either PTE or IELTS).
- For PTE, the applicant's score must fall between the range of 43-50 while for IELTS, a minimum overall band score of 5.5 is acceptable.
- International students in New Zealand can work part-time for 20 hours per week when school is in session and full-time when school is on break.
- Proof of sustenance of at least $800 - $1000 a week during your entire stay in the country.
- This visa attracts an amount of $35 processing fee
- Initially, you may get 90 days for your student visa, but this can easily be extended to cover the entire duration of your study.
- If you’re spending six months or more here in New Zealand you may need to be screened for tuberculosis.
- You may apply for a residence permit at the end of your study program in New Zealand.
- Dependent children of temporary work visa holders in New Zealand also need a student visa.
- This entitles them to attend New Zealand primary and secondary schools as domestic students (meaning they are not required to pay international student tuition fees).
