How to get a Sierra Leone visa from Rwanda

• The Sierra Leonean tourist visa is issued to Rwandans that intend to travel to Sierra Leone for sightseeing, tourism, vacation and other leisure activities.
• To obtain the Sierra Leonean tourist visa, your Rwandan passport must be original and have a validity of not less than 6 months beyond the intended date of departure from Sierra Leone. There must be at least two blank visa pages left in your passport.
• You must submit a fully completed and signed visa application form. Incomplete forms may delay the processing of your visa application. The visa application form may be submitted in person or by post.
• You need 1 passport-size photograph (35x45mm) for your visa application. Digital or edited photos are not allowed.
• As proof that you intend to leave Sierra Leone when your visa expires, you are required to provide a copy of your return flight ticket to your country of origin.
• If you have a letter of invitation from a resident of Sierra Leone, you are required to provide such a letter. This letter must clearly state your name, purpose of your travel, how long you intend to stay and the contact details of your host.
• Proof of accommodation, either private or a hotel reservation in Sierra Leone, is required for your visa application.
• You are also required to submit a copy of your travel itinerary, showing place you intend to visit in Sierra Leone.
• You must provide an international certificate of vaccination for Yellow Fever and Cholera.
• If you are a minor, you must provide a letter of consent from your parents or guardians granting you permission to travel to Sierra Leone.
• You must provide proof of payment for the visa fee. This fee is non-refundable.

• Rwandans who intend to travel to Sierra Leone for any business activity must obtain a Sierra Leonean business visa.
• To obtain the Sierra Leonean business visa, your Rwandan passport must be original and have a validity of not less than 6 months beyond the intended date of departure from Sierra Leone. There must be at least two blank visa pages left in your passport.

This letter should be addressed to the Embassy of Sierra Leone in your country.
• If you have no business partner company in Sierra Leone but you have plans to do so, you must provide evidence of your company's credibility and financial standing.
• There is no limit to the amount of money you can carry into Sierra Leone. However, the amount must be declared at the port of entry.
• As proof that you intend to leave Sierra Leone when your visa expires, you are required to provide a copy of your return flight ticket to your country of origin.
• You must provide proof of hotel accommodation for the entire duration of your stay in Sierra Leone.
  
• You may apply for a multiple-entry visa if you intend to entire Sierra Leone multiple times. This multiple-entry visa is valid for either 6 months or a year.
  

Visas can be extended for up to 30 days. You will have to visit the Immigration Department in the country's capital, Freetown to apply for an extension.

There are vehicles available for public transport as well as local boats in certain areas that can't be easily accessible by road. You should also note that petrol is quite expensive in Sierra Leone which affects the price of transportation. In fact, most of the other things you might have to purchase will likely be expensive so you should prepare for that.
