Entry Requirements

  • Citizens of Rwanda are granted visa on arrival to visit Togo within 7 days.
  • Citizens’ passports are required to be valid within the duration of stay.
  • It is recommended that one blank page of passports must be made available for visa stamp.
  • An international certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever is required from citizens of Rwanda visiting Togo. 
  • All travellers are not required to pay any airport tax upon departing from the airport.
  • Import of dogs and other domestic animals requires a health certificate and certificate of vaccination against that is issued not more than 3 days.
  • Local and foreign currencies beyond $10,000 equivalent are not allowed at exit and entry.

Is it safe to travel to Togo?

Violent crime, theft and pick-pocketing are common throughout Togo and you should be especially cautious in Lomé along the beach and in the markets. You should avoid travelling alone where possible, even within Lomé city limits, especially at night.

Can I extend my stay in Togo?

Yes, once in Togo, you can extend it to 90 days. To do this, you will have to submit an application to the nearest diplomatic mission of Togo before departure.

Are there mosquitoes in Togo?

The Togolese Republic has a tropical and humid climate which constitutes an ideal environment for mosquitoes to breed and transmit diseases. Mosquito nets and other repellents are highly recommended to be purchased before visiting the country.
