Application requirements

Documents Senegalese applicants need to provide.

  • A Senegal passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date.
  • Passport must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
  • Duly completed and signed the Netherlands visa application form.
  • The parents or legal guardians have to sign the form if the applicant is a minor.
  • Three passport-size photographs taken on a white background should be attached to the application form.
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of the original travel documents.
  • Proof of financial capability.
  • Applicants should provide proof of accommodation/hotel reservations in the Netherlands.
  • Applicants must not overstay visa duration or he/she is likely to be ban from entering the Netherlands.
  • An original copy of the return flight ticket should be submitted.
  • Documentation showing applicant’s ties to Senegal such as national ID cards or photocopies of original property certificate should be provided by the applicant.
  • An original police report showing that the applicant does not have any criminal record or has not engaged in any criminal activities in Senegal.
  • Copy of confirmed travel itinerary showing travel details, entry, and exit date from the Netherlands.

Visa type details

Tourist visa

  • The Netherlands tourist visa is issued to Senegalese who have the intention of exploring the tourist attractions in the country.
  • The tourist visa also gives permission to foreigners to visit friends or family members in the Netherlands.
  • A valid passport in good condition, with at least six months of validity remaining from the date of arrival in, is required.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs taken against a white background are required.
  • An entry stamp to prove that the applicant is entering the country legally is required.
  • The visa stamp should be affixed on the blank pages in the original Senegal passport.
  • Recent bank statements showing proof of sufficient funds for the entire duration of stay.
  • Proof of medical insurance to cover the entire duration of stay should be submitted.
  • Invitation letter from the host in the Netherlands stating the relationship with the applicant, purpose, and duration of stay in the Netherlands.
  • The host could either be a family member, friend, or tour organization in the Netherlands.
  • Applicant travelling with a tourist organization should provide a certificate of registration with the tourism company or invitation letter from a tour organization.
  • Proof of accommodation or hotel reservation is mandatory.
  • Minors (under 18) must present a copy of their birth certificate and written, notarized authorization from the absent parent(s) or legal guardian.
  • Vaccinations against Yellow fever, measles, malaria is compulsory.
  • Applicants must not overstay visa duration of stay in the Netherlands.
  • Holders of a tourist visa are not required to work or study in the Netherlands or will be deported.

Business visa

  • The business visa is issued to foreigners travelling to the Netherlands for business purposes such as attending a business meeting, conferences, negotiating and signing contracts.
  • Applicant should provide proof of company registration of the company in the Netherlands by providing a certificate of registration issued by the Government of the Netherlands.
  • A cover letter from the applicant's employer in Senegal stating the awareness of applicant's trip, duration and reason of travel to the Netherlands are required.
  • The business cover letter should also indicate that the applicant is of good conduct.
  • The cover letter should clearly state who will be financially responsible for the applicant during the stay in the Netherlands and must be signed by a senior employee in the company in Senegal.
  • The invitation letter must be approved by the chamber of commerce in the Netherlands must be provided.
  • Proof of business dealings by both companies should be provided.
  • Income tax for the last three months must be provided.
  • Confirmation of return ticket must be provided, this is to show that the applicant has the intention of returning back to their country.
  • Proof of yellow fever vaccination and other communicable diseases should be submitted.
  • Applicants travel itinerary showing travel details and dates of entry and exit from the Netherlands is required.
