Basic Travel Requirements for Senegaleses visiting Spain

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Spanish Visa.

  • One visa application form completely filled out and signed by the applicant. 
  • One passport format photo that has a light background, is rightly colored and shows full face features. 
  • The photo must be less than three months old and be glued on the application form. Applications with stapled photographs will be rejected.
  • Proof of travel arrangements such as full travel itinerary showing travel details to Spain.
  • Travel/medical insurance stating that the applicant is covered in case of a medical emergency and repatriation in Spain (minimum coverage of € 30.000).
  • Proof of accommodation in Spain such as hotel booking/ rental agreement, or an official letter from the host issued by the Police of Spain with a copy of the host’s passport.
  • Proof of financial subsistence such as a recent statement of the last three months that shows funds of at least 500 £ (594 €).
  • Applicants are required to pay 60 euros for the visa application.
  • The applicant should take note that Cash is not accepted as a valid proof of financial subsistence.

Spain Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Spain visa application form should be correctly filled with all the required information and signed by the applicant.
  • Two identical photos taken within the last three months and must show the full face of the applicant.
  • Valid Senegal passport which has at least two blank pages and a validity of three more months from the date of arrival to Spain is required. 
  • Passports older than ten years or extended passports will not be accepted.
  • Letter of invitation by the relative/friend residing in Spain, attached with a copy of their passport. In case that the friend/relative is not a citizen of Spain, a copy of the residency permit will also be required.
  • Round trip reservations should include the dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Spain.
  • A confirmation letter from the applicant’s health insurance stating coverage for emergency medical treatment with a minimum of €30,000, including repatriation in case of death.
  • Travel Itinerary showing a detailed description of the trip, the purpose of travelling, the duration of stay the applicant will be spending in Spain.
  • Means of Subsistence showing that the applicant has enough money to financially support the during the stay in Spain.
  • Applicants are required to provide proof of accommodation.
  • This could be house/Flat of the applicant’s family member, relative or friend who is inviting the applicant or hotel/hostel booking with the name of the place, its complete address and other contact details as phone and e-mail. It should also include the dates the applicant will be staying there.
  • A minor travelling alone shall provide an original birth certificate and notarized letter by both parents / legal guardians, plus copies of parents passports or ID.

Spain Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Visa application form that is fully completed and signed.
  • Two recently taken photos must be attached. Both photos must be taken within the last three months.
  • A valid passport should valid for at least three more months beyond the date the applicant plan to leave Spain.
  • The applicant travel itinerary must include dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Spain. 
  • Valid medical insurance that proves the applicant has travel health insurance for the whole of stay in Spain, in case of any medical emergency as illnesses, accidents and even repatriation in case of death.
  • Proof of accommodation that shows where the will be accommodated throughout the required stay in Spain. This could be a hotel booking, a rental agreement, or a letter of invitation from a host at whose house the applicant will be staying.
  • Bank account statement – that shows you have enough money in the applicant’s account for the trip. The statement shall be no older than 3 months.
  • Applicants are required to provide proof the visa application has been paid. 
  • Letter from employer giving full details describing the profile of the applicant’s working place, the purpose of the travel, as well as the itinerary of the days, spend within Spain.
  • An invitation letter written by the partner company in Spain faxed also to the corresponding consulate. This letter has to appear as an invitation to attend meetings or other relevant events matching trade, industry or work.
  • It must be stated either in the employer’s letter or the partner company’s invitation that one of both parties will be covering the applicant’s travel expenses during the required stay in Spain.
  • If there were previous trade relations between the two companies proof of such an event.
  • For the self-employed, a copy of the applicant’s business license, company bank statement of the latest 6 months, and Income Tax Return (ITR) is required.

Spain Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Two visa application form should be fully completed, with correct and honest answers.
  • Two identical photos taken within the last three months against a white background.
  • Valid passport issued within the last 10 years with validity of at least 3 months after the end of the planned journey.
  • Previous passports tied together with a rubber band. Do not staple them.
  • Applicants that are not citizens of Spain are required to provide proof of residency.
  • Roundtrip reservation or itinerary specifying the dates and flight numbers of entry and exit from Spain.
  • Travel medical insurance issued by the Senegal health insurer, confirming the applicant has insurance throughout the whole stay with coverage of €30,000 for emergency health situations.
  • Proof of accommodation showing evidence where the applicant will be staying at, during the time in Spain. 
  • The evidence of accommodation could be is could be a dormitory contract signed between the applicant and an official of a dormitory in Portugal, rent agreement, specifying the address and other information details about the facility and landlord, or a letter written by a resident in the country you are applying to enter, confirming they are willing to take the applicant in their home throughout the period the applicant will be there.
  • A recent, official and signed letter stating your name/type of studies/length of studies/part of a European program if applicable/number of hours per week.
  • Proof of academic qualifications such as Diploma, academic records, attestation of the application for equivalence or decision/dispatch of equivalence.
  • Proof of financial means such as bank account statement or original attestation of an official scholarship of a minimum of 613 euros per month.
  • Receipt showing proof of paid visa fee.
