Japan Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Japanese tourist visa is issued to citizens of Seychelles for a temporary leisure visit to Japan.
- The visa is mostly used for pleasure and tourism visits.
- It is valid for 3-4 months from the date of entry.
- The Japanese single entry visa allows travellers to enter Japan for a period of 30 days.
- There is a double-entry tourist visa too. Visitors can gain entry twice within the 6 month period.
- It is possible for applicants to gain entry multiple times but it depends on the visitor's nationality.
- Activities such as sightseeing, visiting friends, or attending conferences are only permitted under this visa.
- The application form is meant to filled and signed with a black pen.
- An original signed international passport which is valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry is required.
- A recent 35mmx45mm passport-sized photo taken on a white background should be submitted along with the passport. The applicant's name should be written at the back of the photo.
- Bank statements not more than six months are needed to prove the financial stability of the applicant.
- Married couples are to submit their marriage certificate issued within the last year.
- A birth certificate is to be presented during the visa application processing.
- All travellers should have at least $5000 or its equivalent in their country's currency.
- A travel itinerary with details of your flight exit and entry dates is a requirement.
- You are not allowed to take up employment with this visa.
- A copy of flight return ticket is needed to prove your intention of returning back home.
- A receipt of your visa application fee is needed. These fees vary depending on whether you are applying for a single entry visa, as well as your nationality.
- Tax return statements are to be provided.
- A copy of your certificate of Employment must be submitted for those who are being sponsored financially.
- A schedule and travel plans for the trip is to be submitted.

- The Intra-company Transfer visa applies to expats of foreign companies or the subsidiary companies of Japanese firms located overseas who have worked more than one year in the said office.
- The skilled labour visa applies to workers in filed of cooking, architecture or civil engineering, instructing sports, training animals. It's mandatory to have at least three years of professional experience in that field.
- The Business manager visa is for those who wish to start a business or invest in Japan. Or managing businesses on behalf of investors.
- While highly skilled professional visa applies to applicants who are likely to contribute to the Japanese economy.
- The employing company have to present a letter stating the applicant's intending position and expected salary to be paid.
- The applicant must have a Certificate of Eligibility (COE).
- The COE is issued by the immigration bureau under the jurisdiction of the Japan Ministry of justice. A photocopy of the certificate is to be carried along with the original.
- Work visas are valid for the period of 1-3 years.
- A letter of employment and work contract is to presented at the embassy.
- A CV containing proof of previous work experience is to be submitted along with a contract letter.
- Applicants are to also get a residence and work permit immediately they gain entry into Japan.
- A Specified Skills visa has been newly introduced to foreigners coming to Japan for work. It has two sub-types:
- The Specified Skills Visa No.1 allows foreigners to work in Japan for a period of 5 years and is immediately accessible for application
- The Specified Skills Visa No.2 allows foreigners to work in Japan indefinitely. It is to be noted however that this visa is yet to be released for use.
- The work visa is renewable.
Japan Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Only those interested in studying in a Japanese higher institution can apply for a student visa.
- Students from Seychelles are expected to get a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) issued by the Ministry of Justice from their institution or school of admission.
- An international passport valid for at least six months is required.
- One passport-sized photo taken on a plain white background within 3 months prior
- to the application period.
- The passport photo should not be identical with any other one.
- A photocopy of the passport is to be brought along for the application.
- A copy of the applicant's last school leaving certificate or transcript is needed during the visa processing.
- Documents to prove that applicants are being financially sponsored are to be submitted.
- Students from Seychelles are expected to have a minimum of ¥3,000,000 or the equivalent in dollars.
- The income statements of the sponsor along with bank statements and scholarship award letters are required.
- If the applicant's sponsor is resident in Japan, he or she is expected to submit a proof of residency in Japan.
- A student visa lets you stay in Japan for as long as 4 years or to the duration of study.
