Mongolia Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The tourist visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of visiting Seychelles for sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation.
  • An original passport of at least six-month validity. 
  • Three recent passport-sized photograph with white background.
  • Seychellois who have been invited to the country by their friends and relatives can travel to the country using this visa.
  • Applicants visiting their friends and relatives in the country are required to present a letter of invitation from their host. The letter should have the valid contact details of the host.
  • Applicants that are not staying with friends or relatives must show proof of accommodation by providing copies hotel reservations.
  • You can attend festivals and events during your time in the country.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer stating awareness and allowance of applicant’s leave. The job position of the applicant should be stated in the letter, as well as, the contact details of the company.
  • Non-Seychellois should provide a copy of their stay permit in Seychellois.
  • If you are under the age of 18, the original copy of your birth certificate should be provided. If the minor is traveling with one or none of his/her parent, a notarized letter of consent signed by both parents of the applicant is required.
  • A document which shows that the applicant has the incentive of returning to their country is required.
  • Vaccination certificate for yellow fever is required.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee should be provided.
  • Mongolia is a relatively safe country to travel to.
  • Foreigners visiting Mongolia are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment in the country.
  • Seychellois should ensure they obey the laws guiding this visa. If you violate local laws, even unknowingly, you may be expelled, arrested, or imprisoned.
  • The police emergency hotline in Mongolia is 102.
  • For stays of more than 30 days, you must register with Mongolian Immigration within seven days of arrival. Failure to register will result in a fine of $100-$300, even if you extend your stay due to circumstances beyond your control.

  • Bearers of this visa can negotiate and sign business contracts, attend conferences, trade fairs, and business summits. 
  • Applicants are not required to be present when applying for this visa.
  • Seychelles who have been granted this visa are to provide their visa clearance letter at the entry ports or risk entry denial.
  • The Mongolian business visa has a validity of 30 days.
  • The visa can either be issued on a single or multi-entry basis.
  • Applicants are to provide proof of travel insurance with an equivalent of 30,000 USD.
  • The Mongolian business visa application for Seychelles are to be submitted on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. 
  • Holders of this visa are not allowed to stay beyond the visa duration.
  • A letter of invitation from the host company in Mongolia is required. The letter should state the address of the host company, the duration and purpose of the applicants.

  • Evidence of previous business transactions with the company must be provided.

When is the best time to traval to Mongolia?

May to September is the best season, with the peak season in July for the Naadam Festival. July and August are also the wettest months of the year but be assured, our climate is such that you will still have many sunny days at this time. The best time to visit the Gobi is June or September.

What should i bring along?

Warm thin layers of clothing, waterproof jacket, good walking boots and sandals, and a hat and headscarf to protect you from the sun and winds. Don’t forget insect repellent, sun cream, lip-gloss, water purifying tablets and first aid kit (medicine for headache, cold, diarrhea, runny nose; bandages; any medicine prescribed for you) all your camera equipment and binoculars and perhaps some snacks to eat between mealtimes.

Is Mongolia safe?

The vast majority of our clients visiting Mongolia have a safe and trouble-free trip. However, you do need to keep your wits about you in Ulaanbaatar watching your pockets and bags in crowded places and avoid walking around at night.

What currency should i bring along?

We would suggest a mixture of credit/debit cards and a small amount of cash in USD (preferred) or Euros. Mongolia is a good place to change any excess Chinese Yuan or Russian Roubles depending on your direction of travel. Make sure you let your card provider know you will be in Mongolia or your card may be stopped.
