Netherlands Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The visa is issued to foreigners travelling to the Netherlands to conduct business and/or commercial purposes.
- The people who are going for meetings, trainings, conferences, and trade fairs are also required to apply for this visa.
- The visa is issued on a short-stay with the validity of 3 months.
- If you are to stay longer than 3 months in the Netherlands, you are to apply for a long-stay visa otherwise known as Authorization for temporary stay(MVV)
- You cannot be paid for work you did or any organization you attend when you travelled with this visa.
- You are required to apply for a work permit if you want to be paid for service you render or for work.
- You are to provide an official invitation letter from the company you will be visiting in the Netherlands. If you will be attending an event, trade fair or conference, an invitation for such event should be provided.
- Evidence of business relationships such as contracts, invoices, proof of imports, etc between the companies involved should be provided.
- Foreigners making the trip to the Netherlands for the purpose of cultural activities, sports, research or vocational training purposes are required to provide a document from the organizer of the event in the Netherlands.
- The name of the invited applicant, his/her status, the purpose of the trip and the duration of the trip must be stated.
- Citizens of Somalia are to apply for the Netherlands visa in the African neighboring countries since the Netherlands does not have an embassy and consul in Somalia.
- You are required to provide a document from your employer stating your job position, salary level, and duration of your trip. This document should also state clearly who will be responsible for your travel expenses.
- Non-Somalians applying for the visa from Somalia should ensure that they are in possession of a valid Somalian residence card with a validity of at least three months after the intended departure date from the Netherlands.
- Ensure you leave sufficient time gap between the appointment date and the travel date to have their visa application processed.
- If you are employed, you are to provide an employment letter, current bank statement from the last six months, leave permission from your employer, and Income Tax Return(ITR) form or Certificate of Income Tax deducted at the source of salary.
- A retiree Somalian should provide their statement of Pension from the last six months.
Netherlands Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Tourist Visa is granted to people visiting the Netherlands for the purpose of leisure sightseeing, vacation, honeymoon, and all other tourism activities.
- You must provide original and a copy of every document you will submit to either embassy or consulate you are applying for the visa.
- The visa is valid for 90 days issued as a short-stay visa to all foreigners.
- All documents are to be presented in or translated to Dutch, English, French or Spanish.
- Minors who will be travelling to the Netherlands alone or with one of their parents are required to present a copy of their unabridged birth certificate.

- An identity document (one for each parent) which has the parents’ signature should be provided. The identity document should be accompanied by a declaration of consent from both parents which confirms the allowance of the minors’ travel.
- Applicants are required to provide evidence of their legal residence in Somalia.
- The Netherland Tourist visa being a Schengen visa, makes the holder of this visa liable to enter other Schengen States having initially been to the Netherlands.
- If your residence card has expired, you are required to present a letter stating that you have re-applied for a new residence card and it has not been issued.
- Documents proving that the purpose of your visit to the Netherlands is purely for touristic purposes should be provided.
- Travellers are required to provide proof that they will return to their country after the expiration of their visa.
- Fingerprints must be captured at the visa application centre. The fingerprint capture has a validity of 5 years.
- Applicants who do not submit all the necessary documents during the visa application process may have their visa application rejected.
- You are not to exceed your visa stay. Failure to heed to the working will subject you to be penalized.

Netherlands Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa allows foreign citizens to transit through the international areas of the airports in the Schengen area without leaving the airport.
- Holders of this visa can board another flight in the Netherlands to their destination country.
- If your transit consists of more than two stops through the Schengen area, you are required to apply for the Schengen visa instead of the Transit Visa, even if you will not be leaving the transit zone of the airport.
- Just like any other visa type, this visa is charged 60euro with the validity of 24 hours at the ports.
- Travellers who possess a valid visa or residence permit issued by a Schengen member state do not require the Transit Visa.
- Holders of the diplomatic passport are exempted from acquiring a Transit Visa.
- Crew members of an aircraft and a national of a country that is a party to the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation do not require a visa.
- Minors under the age of 18 years are mandated to present the original copy of their birth certificate. Parental consent should also be provided.

- Your visa fee will not be refunded should your visa application is refused or unapproved.
