Basic Travel Requirements for South Africans visiting Lithuania

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Lithuanian Visa.

  • Accurately filled and signed application form.
  • Two coloured passport sized photographs taken with a white background and showing the face fully. These photographs should be attached to the application form.
  • Copies of your previous visas along with your passport. The passport should have a validity of 3 months from the intended date of entry into the country.
  • Travel insurance with a minimum of €30000 covering medical insurance.
  • Travel itinerary for the duration of the visit in the country.
  • Proof of sustenance for the duration of stay in the country.  
  • Confirmed flight reservation with dates of entry and exit from Lithuania.
  •  Bank statement showing sufficient finance for the period of stay in the country. The bank statement should span a period of 6 months from the period of application of the visa.
  • Proof of accommodation for the duration of stay in the country.

Lithuania Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is the type of visa meant for sightseeing, recreational and relaxation purposes.
  • Holders of this visa type can also visit relatives and friends in the country.
  • You are however not allowed to take up any job in the country.
  • You need a letter of invitation from the person in Lithuania you are visiting.
  • The address and phone number of the person you are visiting should be included in the invitation letter.
  • You are restricted from taking a course in one of the institutions of learning in the country.
  • Original birth certificate of minors should be presented during the visa application process.
  • Overstaying the duration of your visa is an offense.
  • The visa fee is €60 and it is valid for 90 days.

Lithuania Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is for the business-minded people travelling to Lithuania.
  • This people aim to foster a good working relationship with business partners in Lithuania.
  • You are allowed to have business meetings with partners and also sign business contracts.
  • You are also allowed to attend business meetings, conferences and trade fairs during your stay in the country.
  • A letter of invitation from your business partner in Lithuania which should include the address of the company.
  • Letter from your current employer approving your business leave. The duration of your stay in Lithuania should be clearly stated in the letter.

  • This visa is suitable for students who have been enrolled into a university of choice.
  • Such people are not allowed to take up work.
  • You need a working permit to take up work in the country.
  • A letter of approval from the university you have been enrolled to confirming enrolment into the university.
  • Letter of consent from applicant’s parent is required if the applicant is a minor.
  • The original copy of minor’s birth certificate is required.
  • Proof of sustenance for the duration of stay in the country.
  • A valid medical insurance is required.
  • This visa type costs €60.

Lithuania Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • People whose health is not in the best of condition are the ones entitled to this visa type.
  • The holders of the visa need to get medical treatments that are not available in their home country in Lithuania.
  • A medical report stating the confirmation of the ailment is required.
  • Receipt of the full payment of the medical fees should also be presented.
  • After receiving treatment, patients are required to return to South Africa.
  • For minors, an original copy of birth certificate is required.
