  • Two recent copies of coloured passport-sized photographs which should be taken with a white background. The photographs should not be stapled to the visa application form rather it should be stamped.
  • South African passport with a validity of 6 months after exit from the country. The passport should have two blank pages.
  • Bank statement which covers 3 months before the period of visa application. The bank statement is proof that you can cater for yourself while in the country.
  • Confirmed hotel reservation that covers the duration of your stay in the country.
  • Return and onward tickets with entry and exit dates.
  • Travel insurance.

Tourist visa

  • Tourists who intend to visit Luxembourg for vacation and tourism purposes can do so with this visa type.
  • You are allowed to visit friends and relatives during your visit in the country.
  • Holders of this visa type are not allowed to take up work while in the country.
  • If you need to work, a work permit will be issued to you.
  • Part-time or full-time are not allowed for foreigners on this visa.
  • A letter of invitation from your host should be presented. Your host’s home address should be indicated in the letter.
  • Original copy of your South African stay permit should be provided if you a not a citizen of South Africa.
  • If you are not up to the age of 18 years, a letter of consent from your parents should be provided.
  • All travelers are required to have a yellow fever and meningitis vaccination certificate.
  • You are required to abide by the rules and regulations of your visa.

Business visa

  • This visa type allows travelers attend meetings, sign and negotiate contracts with the company they are visiting in Luxembourg.
  • Business travelers can attend trade fairs, conferences and business lectures.
  • A letter of invitation from the company you are meeting with should be provided during the visa application process. The letter should contain the address of the company and the reason of your visit in the country.
  • If the company is taking up the financial aspect of your visit in the country, it should be clearly stated in the letter.
  • Certificate of business registration of the company is required.
  • If you have had previous business dealings with the company, a proof of this is required.
  • Letter from your current employer in South Africa stating that he/she is aware of your business leave. The duration of the leave should be mentioned in the letter.

  • You are expected to leave the country as soon as your visa expires.
  • Receipt of paid visa application fees is required.
