Slovakia Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The tourist visa allows travelers to visit various tourist sites for relaxation and recreation purposes.

  • You can negotiate and sign contracts and agreements with business partners in the country.
  • Foreigners may attend conferences, trade fairs and business summits while in the country.
  • A letter from your employer in South Africa should be provided. Your position in the company, duration and purpose of your visit should be stated in the letter.
  • Letter of invitation from the company you are meeting up with in Slovakia should be provided. If the company is going to be in charge of your expenses during your stay in the country, it should be stated in the letter.
  • The company should state the purpose of your visit and how long you will be staying in the country.
  • Certificate of business registration of the company you are meeting with in Slovakia is required.
  • If you have had previous business dealings with the company you are meeting with, you are required to present a proof of this.
  • Foreigners with this visa are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment in the country.
  • If you are under the age of 18 years, the original copy of your birth certificate should be provided.
  • Holders of this visa are not allowed to seek public funds.
  • You are required to leave the country as soon as your visa expires.

Slovakia Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The transit visa allows foreigners to make short stays in the country.
  • Applicants of this visa intend to change airport, go from airport to train or bus station or even change terminals.
  • Flight ticket and visa of the destination country should be presented during the visa application process.
  • For non-South Africans, a copy of their South African stay permit is required. The permit should be valid for at least three months beyond the planned stay in Slovakia.
  • Minors should ensure they have the unabridged original copy of their birth certificate.
  • The receipt of paid visa application fees should be tendered.
  • You are neither allowed to study nor work with this visa.
  • You are expected to leave the country before your visa expires.

  • During your time in the country, you can work part-time, as long as it does not interfere with your study.
